Hand Building Taster Workshop

Dive into ceramic hand-building in this pottery taster workshop in London. Guided by our skilled instructor, you’ll learn essential techniques such as pinch cup construction and handle stitching, shaping clay into your own functional or decorative creations. No prior experience is required -- this class is designed to be a welcoming environment for beginners. Each class is limited to 8 participants, allowing plenty of one-to-one guidance. You’ll create one or two small pieces during the session, which we’ll glaze and fire for you.What to expect

• Learn key hand-building techniques like pinch and handle stitching
• Choose your glaze colour from our studio glaze board
• All materials, clay, apron, and tools provided
• One fired piece (max 12 cm × 15 cm) included in the fee; extra or larger pieces can be fired at an additional cost
• Please only fire pieces you truly love to support sustainability
• Optional underglaze painting session available for added colour and detail
• Pick up your fired piece after approximately four weeks -- please collect within four weeks of notification, as uncollected work will be donated due to limited studio space.

By the end of the session, you’ll have gained a solid foundation in hand-building and a unique piece to treasure -- a beautiful reminder of your first step into the world of ceramics!
