What you'll do
Join this botanical ink painting exploration class in South London and develop your skills with coloured ink work inspired by the natural world. This recurring workshop is a great opportunity to use ecologically produced ink in your own creative work.In this relaxed and friendly activity, you will be guided by natural dye and cyanotype artist and textiles printmaker, Zoe Burt. You will learn about a variety of colours that can be extracted from plants, their history and symbolism. Through observation drawing and curated prompts you will explore traditional ink drawing, experimenting with the unique properties of natural inks and modifiers.This workshop takes place in the Remakery's new lab space – a perfect setting for this creative process. After attending a session, you can even book the equipment yourself to continue making your own beautiful natural inks.What you make in the session is up to you, you can bring your own sketchbook for studies, or develop bigger works.Ticket Types;The Remakery is committed to making Eco Craft practices available to everyone. We offer a subsidised ticket for most of our classes, particularly aimed at unwaged, under 25 or financially disadvantaged members of our community.Our ‘True Cost Ticket’ reflects the prep time involved in running a eco-craft course and the cost of keeping a space like the Remakery open.The ‘Pay it forward’ ticket includes a donation towards the upkeep of our communal rooms and the continuation of our community programme.Due to the high demand for our Botanical Ink classes, we do not offer any refunds or cancellations on these tickets.

Your teacher
The Remakery started 10 years ago as a community space for repairing and upcycling furniture.Since then we have developed several communal workshops for a range of eco-craft activities, and an exciting programme to link climate action with the empowerment of making with your hands.Our practitioners have trained at London's top Arts schools, or developed their skills over years of self-discovery.Our programme is curated by Alice Holloway; A researcher in regenerative fashion with The RCA and London Met university, and Innovate Creative Catalyst grant winning regenerative fashion designer.The skills we share at the Remakery are proven to improve mental health, as well as change how class attendees see the world. We want everyone to feel empowered to make a difference, and we have seen how learning to make something is often in the first step towards changing something bigger.
