Join this immersive online botanical dyeing workshop demonstration and discover how to transform everyday food waste and locally accessible foraged plants into beautiful, natural, bright-lasting colours for textiles. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to deepen your skills, this session offers a hands-on, creative journey into the world of sustainable dyeing — all from the comfort of your home.
Using accessible surplus food everyday food ingredients like onion skins, avocado stones, rosemary, etc, and some plant material gathered from nearby parks and gardens plus a few less popular dyestuffs, you’ll learn how to correctly prepare and extract dyes, experiment with colour variations, and apply them to natural fabrics for long lasting wash and light fastness. Each step of the dyeing process is shown in real time, ensuring you feel supported and confident when you create your own unique samples or projects.
Together, we’ll explore the subtle alchemy of nature’s palette understanding how to work with different fibres, modifiers, and mordants to achieve lasting results. You’ll also gain practical insight into ethical foraging, mindful making, and reducing household waste through creative reuse.
This workshop is as much about connection as it is about craft: connecting to nature, to your surroundings, and to the meditative rhythm of slow, purposeful creativity. By the end of the session, you’ll have a collection of beautifully dyed samples and a deeper appreciation for the colours hidden in everyday ingredients — ready to inspire future projects and experiments on your own, at your own pace.

I am a visual artist and arts educator working with colour, textiles, minerals, clay, seeds, flowers and pigments that I carefully gather from plants around me and nearby.
I specialise in sustainable wellbeing workshops and creative mindful sessions for community groups, CPD and staff training for small companies and institutions.
I have been working with natural dyes since 2019 and have an extensive experience planning and delivering creative and engaging sustainable workshops for people of all ages and many backgrounds.
I see these experiences as tools for learning but also for grounding and reflection that aim to connect with ourselves and with others in a supportive, non judgemental safe space. Interested in mental health and wellbeing, I nurture environments where people can reach a deeper level of understanding of their feelings and emotions, allowing time for play and exploration with a focus on the process of making and collective learning.
