Kids' Matisse Tote Bag Design

Kids will use stencils inspired by Henri Matisse to design their own custom totes.

7 to 12 years     2 hours Class size 1 to 10 guests

£27 - £35 (Earlybird price of £27 applies if you book into a public session 10+ days ahead, otherwise £35 per guest when you book for 1 guest, £30/guest for 2+ guests) (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

In this fun and mess-free textile workshop, young artists will draw inspiration from Henri Matisse's iconic, playful shapes and vibrant colour palettes to decorate their very own canvas tote bag.
Instead of traditional painting, kids will use custom stencils, sponges, and fabric paints to layer bright organic forms, dancing figures, and blossoming florals. It’s a wonderful way for children to experiment with wearable art, creating a unique bag they can proudly use for library books, school gear, or everyday adventures.
Designed for beginners and budding young artists alike, this small-group course is limited to just 10 children, ensuring plenty of individual guidance and support throughout.
Hosted by an experienced art teacher in the historic Abbey Mills setting.
Special Offer: Book for 2 children (or siblings/friends) and automatically save 15% on your total!

The Fauve Palette

female Women-owned

Hi, I'm Georgina Derby. I'm a qualified art teacher with years of experience teaching Art lessons. I founded The Fauve Palette to bring painting into social, inspiring spaces. I personally curate and lead every workshop. We take our name from the Fauves—the early 20th-century 'wild beast' painters like Henri Matisse who broke all the rules and embraced bold, unapologetic colour to paint for the pure joy of it. We are here to help you unlock your creativity, play with colour, and enjoy a creative social experience.
Painting is a form of active mindfulness - a chance to slow down, unplug and enjoy the creative process. There are no mistakes in our studio, only happy accidents. We hope you’ll leave our sessions not just with a finished canvas, but with an inspired mind and a recharged spirit.
