What you'll do
Join us for 'Write Anyway, 'Even if it’s Messy' -- creative writing workshops in West Drayton for writers aged 16+ who want to explore their craft without pressure or perfection. Book individual workshops here or book the full course here here.Led by writer and MA Creative Writing student Natashia Gravett, these sessions offer a relaxed, supportive space to experiment, explore your voice, and simply write anyway.What to expect:
- Week 1 (25th April) -- Find your voice and write without apology.
- Week 2 (2nd May) -- Learn how to tell your story safely, powerfully, and on your own terms.
- Week 3 (9th May) -- Voice and point of view: discover who’s speaking and why it matters.
- Week 4 (16th May) -- Experiment with form and learn that breaking the rules can reshape what writing can be.
- Week 5 (23rd May) -- Redrafting without killing the work: revision as a form of care.
- Week 6 (30th May) -- Reflection and continuation: confidence and momentum.

- 5/5 from Georgina Lavender, attended May 2026: Fabulous way to spend a Saturday morning with an inspiring tutor who really does encourage you to 'just write' and get ideas down on paper. A gentle introduction to creative writing - even for complete beginners. The two hours flew past.
Your teacher
Southlands Arts Centre is a wonderful Queen Anne Grade 2 listed building with extensive, beautiful grounds. It is the perfect backdrop for all creative people. The Centre is used by people and groups who engage in cultural activities across the fine arts, music, photography, film, and craft design. We are well known for our exhibitions held throughout the year and attract some amazing artists (many local) who regularly exhibit their work at the Centre. We are also the home for The West London Photo Exhibition and SouthlandsLIVE.
