Our Linocut course will take you on a journey from the basics of linocut through to more advanced prints using multiple layers to achieve multi-coloured prints. The course is suitable for beginners or more experienced printmakers.

What you'll get
You will make multiple linocuts, from simple one-colour prints exploring mark-making and printmaking technique, and a small series of more complex multi-coloured linocuts, using a key block and multiple layers and/or pieces.
Knowledge required
The course is suitable for complete beginners and more experienced printmakers. All you need is enthusiasm and ideas—we will do the rest—enabling you to make great prints through lots of demos, discussion, and one-to-one!

Cycling There are secure bike racks in the yard. Public transport The nearest tube station is Stockwell (Northern and Victoria lines), approximately 15 mins walk. Oval tube station (Northern line) is approximately 20 mins walk. The nearest bus stop is Hillyard Street on Brixton Road. Buses 3, 59, 133, 159, 415, N3, N109 and N133 stop here. It’s a 5 minute walk from this bus stop to the studio. On Clapham Road, the Landsdowne Way bus stop serves buses 155, 333 and N155. It’s a 10 minute walk from this bus stop to the studio. Driving and parking If you plan to drive to the studio, there is parking onsite. The studio is not in the congestion charge zone.

Started in 2010 by artists Michelle Avison and Alex Le Fevre, Slaughterhaus Print Studio became HAUSPRINT CIC in April 2019; a non-profit, independent artist-led printmaking space in Stockwell, South London. Shared by a collective group of artist printmakers, the studio's vision is to create a supportive environment that encourages experimentation, collaboration and engagement with print.
HAUSPRINT runs a varied programme of artist and specialist talks, classes and exhibitions, and award an annual student prize, giving recent graduates access to equipment and mentoring. The studio offers access to specialist printmaking equipment for experienced printmakers, professional opportunities for artists, and a wide range of artist delivered courses in printmaking, drawing and book arts.
