Sit and Settle

As you come in, you'll be able to check out the display and get comfortable. Sit, grab a drink, and get chatting with friends or other attendees.

Loosen Up

Loosen Up

We'll start the session with a few quick drawing exercises to warm up the imagination and the eye-to-hand connections.

Get Painting

Get Painting

We'll give a little intro into acrylic paints if you haven't used them before. Then you'll have the evening to experiment and paint from the display, your imagination, and more. There are no rules here!

Nibble!

Nibble

Not a mandatory step, but our displays tend to be edible and it helps us if they're eaten. Feel free to take sweet things and fruits as the evening going on -- as long as someone else isn't painting it!

Take Home Your New Artwork

Take Home Your New Artwork

Acrylic is quick drying when it's painted thinly, so in most cases your canvas will be dried and ready to go by the end of the session. We'll have bags at the ready so you can take your new piece home and display with pride!

Still Life Paint Social is a relaxed, untutored painting session designed to help you unwind, socialise and enjoy the simple pleasure of painting.
The session begins with a complimentary drink from the bar and a few gentle, guided drawing exercises to help everyone loosen up and ease into painting. After that, the rest of the evening is completely untutored, giving you the freedom to create your own still life painting inspired by the display (and beyond).
There’s no experience needed and absolutely no pressure. This is about playing with paint at your own pace in a friendly, welcoming environment. Come on your own, bring friends, or celebrate something special. It’s a social, easy-going space for creative downtime.
All materials are provided, and the still life display is often edible (so snacks may happen, unless someone’s painting them).
Something Good Workshops has a fully stocked bar, with a wide range of drinks available throughout the evening. If you have any dietary requirements or special requests, just let us know.
If the listed date or time doesn’t quite work, we’re happy to offer private bookings or open additional sessions on request.
You’ll leave feeling calm, creatively refreshed, and proud of what you’ve made — no pressure, just paint.

Hi, we’re Emily and Jess, the creative minds behind Something Good Workshops!
Our journey began in 2019 when Emily launched Something Good Workshops (originally known as MADEptford) as a way to spread crafty joy and raise funds for running the London Marathon. What started as a one-time idea quickly grew into a passion for bringing people together through creativity. Since then, we’ve hosted a wide variety of workshops, from arm knitting to body casting, in all kinds of spaces - corporate offices, cosy pubs, pop-up shops, and even people’s homes.
After taking a short break, we’re back with fresh energy and an exciting new partnership. Jess has joined the team, and together, we’re on a mission to spark joy and empower people to explore their creativity in relaxing, welcoming spaces. We believe there’s something magical about slowing down, working with your hands, and leaving with something you’ve made yourself - whether it’s a chunky knit blanket, a personal shrine, or a collage bursting with personality.
What makes us unique? We’re all about creating an environment where people feel at ease, whether they’re a total beginner or a seasoned maker. Over the years, we’ve held workshops in so many different settings, and one thing always stands out: the joy people feel when they realize just how creative they can be.
We’re not just here to teach a craft - we’re here to help you unwind, have fun, and leave with a tangible reminder that you’re capable of making something good.
We can’t wait to meet you at a workshop soon!
