Iris was very knowledgable about Taiwanese tea and shared her enthusiasm with us. My main takeaway is that Ali Shan is a mountainous area and not a person!

She guided us through the different teas in a really engaging way, answered everyone’s questions with confidence and warmth, and created such a welcoming atmosphere. She was also very accommodating when we were stuck in traffic, which we really appreciated. We left having learnt so much more about tea, and the goody bag at the end was a lovely finishing touch.

Iris led us through the tea gardens in the mountains of Taiwan and showed us the tea-production process as we tasted a number of different teas. It was really interesting to see how the tea was brewed and the variations in taste between each brewing. We were a nice, informal and welcoming group... always important when you try something on your own. And most importantly of all, the teas were amazing. Thank you, Iris, for introducing me to Taiwan teas. Now it's time for a deeper exploration!

It was very insightful to learn about the history of tea and how its taste varies by region. The setting and overall environment were lovely, and the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. My partner and I both had a great time and would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys tea. I really enjoyed taking the time to focus on the tea. It’s rare to pause and fully concentrate on one thing, and this experience allowed me to be truly present in the moment.

Firstly the ceremony is located in a small cafe, off Dalston Kings land, which is quiet. The cafe has closed by the time we started our tea ceremony which is nice. Secondly, it was intimate and we were only 6 participants so we can ask all the questions that we want! Some snacks are provided but the experience is focused primarily on tea.

Learning about how tea was made and the costumes that comes with this was very interesting and allows you to appreciate the philosophy around tea tasting, I would highly recommend.

Iris was a really lovely and knowledgeable host, and really helped make the day very special! The teas were delicious and gave everyone a good intro to the varieties of Taiwanese tea. Highly recommend!!

She did a wonderful job of explaining very interesting facts about tea-making in Taiwan - especially since English isn't her first language. The ornaments were very beautiful, full of character! The teas were also very delicious! Each are different in flavour, and as the instructor guided us along, she helped us appreciate teas in a new light! Due to the nature of the class, all of us ended up very relaxed, being present and fully enjoying the experience with all our senses engaged! I highly recommend for anyone who is interested in health and wellbeing, mindfulness and also cultured in their tastes - to explore the exotic flavours from the far east! All the very best, Kourosh
