What to bring
- Saunders Waterford 1/2 imperial rough paper.
- A selection of paintbrushes in sizes 10, 16 and 30.
- Watercolour paints (colours needed: Raw sienna, rich sepia Prussian blue, alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue, burnt umber, light red, cadmium yellow, intense violet, cadmium red, rose madder).
- Pencil.
- Water.
- Kitchen roll.
Your teacher
Marilyn Allis is a talented watercolour artist with a loose and impressionistic style. Marilyn loves to use strong vibrant colours to capture the movement and the energy of a scene. Working mainly in watercolour, but also acrylic inks and mixed media, Marilyn won the SAA artist of the year title in 1999. She has exhibited at the RI in the Mall galleries’ and appeared on Channel 4’s watercolour challenge.
