Create your own beautifully hand-painted parasol in this relaxing and creative workshop, perfect for beginners and experienced creatives alike.
In this session, you’ll paint either a paper parasol or a lace parasol, experimenting with acrylic paint or fabric paint depending on the parasol style you choose. You’ll be guided through techniques for designing your own patterns, blending colours, and applying paint in a way that enhances the texture and structure of the parasol.
Participants will be encouraged to develop their own unique design, with optional use of stencils in some classes to support more intricate patterns or repeating motifs. Whether you prefer freehand painting or working with guided shapes, there’s plenty of room to personalise your piece.
This workshop is all about slowing down, playing with colour, and enjoying the process of making something both decorative and functional. You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind parasol to take home and show off.
Perfect for individuals, friends, or anyone looking for a creative and calming experience. No prior painting experience required.

Myself and my collective, Rebel Stepz, believes in making the arts accessible to our community.
We create a fun, safe, educational and creative environment where people of all ages can not only connect with each other, but also with their creativity and with the amazing talent we have facilitating our workshops.
Every workshop we hold is an opportunity for everyone to discover a facet of the arts, whether that be through painting, singing, dancing, craftwork, film, acting or music.
Each session is also a chance to support local artists, dancers, musicians, and all the other artistic professionals we are lucky enough to have right here in Melbourne and worldwide.
