Now that you’ve found me, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have been making and designing lead lights for about as long as it has taken me to raise three children and see them married with children of their own, so, that’s a long time.
I decided that I wanted to be a stay at home mum and be able to have something to occupy me and fulfil my creative skills, so when I discovered a ‘Stained Glass Evening Class’ at our local college, I signed up, and did a one night a week term of tuition, and left with a determination to practice and perfect what I had learned.
Not only did I enjoy my new found challenge, but my admiration of the glass panels we see in our places of worship and not forgetting the period glass features of our friends and neighbours’ homes could now be something I could actually be part of.
But for personal reasons I had something much deeper than that which made me more intent on really making this work, and that was my mental health issues, which presents itself as agoraphobia and the feeling of helpless anxiety when leaving my comfort zone, this would on all occasions make everybody else's normality a real trial for me, so I realised I had to make my own little paradise, here in the safety of the place that I felt most at ease, my home.
My studio is my solace, where I can create and feel secure, and I welcome you all into my personal sanctuary, where I hope you will feel as comfortable and inspired as I do.
