Hi, I’m Suzanne Raffellini, a glass artist based in Buckinghamshire. I’ve always loved being creative; ever since I was little, I was drawing, making things, and dreaming about going to art college.But life had other plans, and I ended up studying Chemistry at university. I went on to do a PhD and worked in scientific research for several years, including a stint in Italy. It was a great experience, but I always felt like something was missing.Even while working full-time and raising a family, I found ways to be creative; sewing, decorating cakes, getting stuck into DIY projects, but it wasn’t quite enough.Then one day, I had the opportunity to take a last-minute spot on a stained glass course at my local Adult Education Centre. That one class changed everything; I instantly fell in love with glass and how glass work combined hands-on making with the kind of precision and problem-solving I enjoyed in science.What started as a fun hobby quickly became a big part of my life.
