Beginners Weaving Workshop

Learn the basics of weaving, create your first piece of woven fabric, and take your very own loom home with you. In this relaxed beginner workshop in London, Tamara will take you right from the beginning, showing you how to set up your own weaving loom and turn yarn into fabric.You'll learn how to warp your loom, how the weaving process works, and how to create a simple woven piece using colour and texture. There will be plenty of time to experiment too, because one of the lovely things about weaving is seeing what happens when you start playing with different yarns, colours, and ideas.What you'll learn:

Tamara has a degree in Textiles and first discovered weaving at university, where she felt an almost ancestral connection with the process. It's a craft humans have practised for thousands of years, yet there is something wonderfully absorbing about sitting at a loom today and making cloth one row at a time.She finds weaving soothing, relaxing, and therapeutic, as well as a brilliant way to stretch your imagination and creativity, and she loves passing those skills on to other people.
