  • 5/5 from Stella Kayaga, attended Jul 2026: Declan catered amazingly for two daughter and their 3 friends painting session. Instantaneously he built a rapport with them where they were able to ask a multitude of questions, and he was jovial and attentive to them. He was engaging and patient to showing them guidance to the paint pouring technique. The art space was light and open. And on a July summers day the opening to the garden brought light into n the space.

  • 5/5 from Alex, attended Feb 2026: We all enjoyed this so much, and loved seeing how the pieces developed. Declan was a brilliant teacher, and it was very well organised. Would recommend to anyone and can’t wait to do it again
  • 5/5 from Anna Borodina, attended Feb 2026: Declan was amazingly understanding to be able to accommodate me for 121 2.h long session to help me create a massive 90x120cm canvas as a birthday gift for my partner. It wasn’t an easy task for us both, but it was absolutely fascinating and exciting experience, he is very enthusiastic and very knowledgeable teacher. I have never tried this technique before (I’m an artist by myself), so it was something new for me to learn. We have practiced first on a smaller canvas, before moving to the big one. He explained to me how to mix colours with medium in correct proportions and how the principles of pouring work. He was very easy to communicate with, on the same energy level with me and these 2.h flew out within a blink of an eye. We have managed to create the masterpiece together and I’m sure my partner will be amazed with such a gift. I can highly recommend Declan as a teacher, he puts a lot of passion in his lessons and brings a positive energy in the studio all the way. I will definitely stay in touch and be back for more experience. Anna

Relaxed, friendly environment, and the teacher, Declan, was constantly reassuring us that we really did need no experience and couldn't do something 'wrong'. It was amazing to see our artwork form so quickly and easily, as we learned 2 different techniques for paint pouring. Excellent family experience, and very good value for money - we each came out with three finished pieces. Highly recommend!

Declan tailored the session to help me get the most out of the experience, answering all my questions, demonstrating, making suggestions and allowing me to experiment. He creates a good learning environment. Thank you Declan for today! A couple on the train gave their compliments on your art work. My 2 year old nephew found it fascinating and it's now hanging on my bedroom wall.

Hi, I'm Declan.
@newartdecko
I would never consider myself an artist. I have a strong suspicion that if I had enough motivation and time I could actually become a half decent artist. Then again I don't have a lot of space or materials or desire to sell art and have my name in lights somewhere. Instead I want to concentrate on bringing what I have learned about accessible and affordable art creation to others.
I have tried and failed and tried again at drawing, doodling, abstract, digital abstract. Some time ago I watched a few hundred hours of youtube excitement about Paint Pouring / Acrylic Art / Fluid Art and loved it. I loved trying it and loved the fact that I could affordably produce something which looked like a little piece of art. I studied what materials others use and experimented with many of these. I was genuinely thrilled to create something really colourful and impressive without too much learning involved.
I am now bringing my excitment and knowledge to others. I hope my students feel like real artists and find the same joy I found in paint pouring. I am considering trying marbling, textured art and Japanese Suminagashi but that's for another day.
