  • 5/5 from Maureen Reid, attended Sep 2026: I found this course very worthwhile. The teacher was excellent, very patient and feet friendly. I would recommend this course for beginners.
  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Sep 2026: Great introduction to crochet with workshop tutor going at the group's speed and introducing real ideas as how far we could take our new skills.
  • 5/5 from Lisa Ellis, attended Apr 2026: This class was a great introduction to crocheting, something I’ve been wanting to try for a while now but never seem to have had the time for one reason or another. Beth our teacher was clear, concise and most of all very patient throughout the class. It was a small group of five altogether and I think this was the perfect number as it also allowed one to one instruction when needed. At the end of the class I came away feeling like I’ve achieved the basics and it’s definitely made me want to continue. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Beth and the crochet class to others if the are thinking of trying out a new skill…
  • 5/5 from Fiona Houten, attended Apr 2026: Enjoyed crochet workshop very much - Beth’s relaxed style of teaching made for a very enjoyable session!
  • 5/5 from Sue Page, attended Mar 2026: Really enjoyable session. Never thought I'd manage to string any stitches together but Beth managed to show us all how to crochet 3 different stitches. Very relaxed 90 minutes. Would recommend to anyone who has never picked up a crochet hook before.
  • 4/5 from Jeannette Julian, attended Feb 2026: Very laid back approach, which put you at your ease. Our teacher was very helpful, giving individual attention if needed.
  • 5/5 from Sara Daniel, attended Jan 2026: I really enjoyed the lesson. The instructor was so patient with me when teaching the basics. Really thankful for teaching a new skill. Although I struggled with initial lesson, since then I have been practicing and have learned a new skill! Thanks hobby craft.
  • 4/5 from Judi Dobbs, attended Jan 2026: I signed up to the class with no previous crochet experience and struggling to get my head around video tutorials. As I received 2 crochet kits for Christmas I'd had a bit of practice when the class came around, so I didn't benefit as much as I could. I didn't really learn how to hold the hook without the yarn pulling out of my hand all the time, but I could appreciate that if I had no experience at all the class would have been an ideal introduction. The tutor was friendly, approachable and competent, and the class about the right size.

  • 5/5 from Harbinder Babra, attended Apr 2025: Beth was a fantastic tutor today. She was extremely patient with a group of complete beginners, and made sure she spent time with each of us giving individual support. The session flew by and although not perfect, I was really proud of having something to take away to show family. I'll be putting in some practice before going back to see Beth to learn more.
  • 5/5 from Janet Ann Burke, attended Feb 2025: Very enjoyable afternoon, Beth was an excellent host and was happy to take time explaining the different stitches and how best to achieve them she didn’t rush anyone. • 5/5 from Ethel Fitzjohn, attended Mar 2024: I booked this beginners’ workshop at the newly opened Selly Oak branch, as a surprise for my niece and nephew’s birthdays and a refresher for my sister and me. It is a good size space. The tutor, Beth was friendly and helped my niece and nephew get their hands and minds around crocheting. My sister and I also assisted, when Beth was helping one or the other, as it does turn out that, like riding a bike, once you learn a skill, you never really forget! The hook and skeins of wool were included and good quality, making the class very good value. We had a very enjoyable afternoon and it seemed to go very quickly. I really like the way you can request a private class and that the size of class is small. I highly recommend them and I look forward to trying other workshops
