She was absolutely amazing a supporting and guiding my daughter through her crochet lesson. My daughter learned 2 basic techniques and came away with her own crochet hook and choice of 2 yarns- she is now hooked!! I would highly recommend this class to others.
  • 5/5 from Jade Tilley, attended Sep 2025: The teacher Nicole was lovely and so patient and helpful. She had a lot of us to juggle and did well at making sure she got round everyone. I have never picked up a crochet hook in my life and so I was very pleased with what I was able to learn.

  • 5/5 from Katie Gristwood, attended Jan 2025: Absolutely loved this workshop. Only two of us were booked on so felt like a private lesson. The teacher (Nicole I think), was brilliant, friendly and very patient with two absolute beginners. I would highly recommend attending a workshop as I although I knit I had found it hard to pick up crochet from books/YouTube.
  • 5/5 from Victoria, attended Oct 2024: Voucher given as a Christmas gift. Found booking tricky - required me to go into store for help and even then it was not straightforward. Teacher was lovely and very understanding and patient with me. I was slightly disappointed in the limited choice of colours of wool given. So glad I chose in person support as I just can't see how this could have worked on line.

  • 5/5 from Helen Roberts, attended Nov 2023: Nicole was super patient and just lovely when I started I really thought I’m not sure I’m going to get this but I’ve come back knowing the basic stitches and learnt how to scallop a lovely enjoyable session. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Nicola, attended Oct 2023: Nicole was great on the beginners guide to crochet. As it was just me I got 1:1 and I finally think I've got it. We did the basics, starting chain, dc, tc and HTC. She even had time to show me how to change colour and do a scalloped edge. Lots of practice required but I've booked straight onto the beginners guide to granny squares for next week!
  • 5/5 from Sarah, attended Oct 2023: Nicole was wonderful. The session was definitely more helpful than the youtube and social media videos I'd watched before. It gave enough information on the basic skills for me to go away and practise.

  • 5/5 from Eileen Hill, attended Jul 2023: I thoroughly enjoyed the "Beginners Guide to Crochet" lesson and would recommend it. The kit provided enabled me to start learning straightaway, and the tutor was patient, skilled and quickly I began making a foundation chain stitch, which progressed to double crochet, and treble crochet. Skills such as how to hold the yarn and work to obtain a good tension were invaluable. The lesson progressed to learning and trying different patterns to edge or trim work, to explaining in garment patterns how crochet instructions were set out. I feel it was excellent value for money and suitable for all skills and ages. I know with practice I will continue to build on this knowledge. Thank you Hobby Craft, Newton Abbot.
  • 5/5 from Jo Monaghan, attended Jun 2023: The beginners crochet workshop was fab! The teacher was really positive and friendly. I had zero experience and came away feeling like I could do it….albeit very basically but within an hour and a half I felt well on my way. Materials provided were really good. The whole thing was great value for money. I’d certainly recommend doing a workshop at hobbycraft! I fun way to spend time with the family learning something new :)
