  • 5/5 from Beth Barnsley, attended Aug 2026: Really informative helpful class, The person running it was very kind and knowledgeable, would recommend.
  • 5/5 from Julie Billingham, attended Jul 2026: Beginners crochet the class was very good and the tutor very informative. However not enough time for beginners to learn how to crochet a granny square.
  • 5/5 from Kelly Jones, attended Jun 2026: Chloe was really welcoming and very knowledgeable. We ended up having a one to one as I was the only person in attendance. She spent time showing me how to do things the correct way and offered me alternative tweaks that could come in useful. She went at a pace that was great for a complete beginner like myself and I came away with a pretty good first attempt at a granny squeaky thanks to her guidance.
  • 5/5 from Susan Jones, attended Mar 2026: A very enjoyable class.Chloe was lovely and very patient. It was nice having a small group. As it was a beginner class we needed to know terminology relating to stitches so that took a little time. But then there didn’t seem to be enough time to produce much. But overall a lovely class.
  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Feb 2026: A fun friendly teacher, very reassuring and made sure everyone was keeping up as best they could, without keeping those who got the knack a little quicker behind. If I had to give a criticism it is that the class isn't long enough, but I feel thats just the nature of this particular craft, so I won't blame the teacher/Hobbycraft for that, it is litterally an introduction in crotchet. I would do it again
  • 5/5 from Lisa Powell, attended Dec 2025: Really lovely intro to crochet skills
  • 5/5 from Beverley Adina Heritage, attended Dec 2025: I really enjoyed this crochet beginners class. The tutor was great. She worked her way calmly around the students, who were all at different stages of learning to crochet. She was very professional and friendly. She knew her stuffx

  • 5/5 from Deborah Quinn, attended Sep 2025: Chlo was a very competent teacher. Chlo’s introduction to crochet was very detailed explaining the different yarns available crochet terminology and different types of crochet hooks. Chloe was very patient and ensured that I understood and repeated steps as needed. I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and came away with a granny square. Thank you Chloe.
  • 5/5 from Deborah Bryceland, attended Aug 2025: My 11 year old daughter Rosie wanted to learn how to crochet. Chloe the teacher was brilliant, she was patient and explained everything clearly. When we got back home, Rosie immediately started to crochet exactly how chloe explained
  • 4/5 from Katy Willitts, attended Aug 2025: Loved the beginners crochet class and Chloe our teacher was a great - very patient and calm and took her time to make sure we were all following along and able to understand what we were doing even though we were all progressing at different rates. Only lost a star as being in the middle of the hobbycraft shop meant people kept coming and asking for information or where items were in the store and I think it could be better set up by hobbycraft to make it clear that we were a workshop so this didn’t happen!! Thank you to Chloe though and I’ll definitely book another class!!!

  • 5/5 from Susan James, attended Feb 2024: Teacher Chloe at the Merry Hill store was fabulous and so patient, I was all fingers and thumbs lol. The venue was good, I did the beginners crochet which taught the foundations of crochet like how to hold the wool, tension on the stitches and how to do chain stitch. We got to choose 2 balls of wool and were given a crochet hook and some instructions to take away. A lovely 90 minutes spent.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Cooksey, attended Jan 2024: Absolutely brilliant, loved it. Excellent value for money and a great coach that lead the session. I’ll certainly look to do more of these sessions throughout the year. Lovely ideas for a gift too.
  • 5/5 from Jane Comery, attended Aug 2023: Extremely patient teacher. Tried to crochet many times but this is the first time I have been successful and could go away and continue to complete my granny square.
  • 4/5 from Suzanne Tranter, attended Aug 2023: Class of 5, we learnt the basics of crochet and how to start a granny square. Hook and 2 balls of wool, own choice of colour, were included. I would advise choosing light colours, one of mine was navy and it's hard to see your stitches! Showed how to hold the hook and the wool, slip stitch, chain & double. Teacher was very patient and helped individuals independently. Always difficult to move forward when learners pick things up at a different pace, would have been useful to have a simple pattern to follow. The workshop was enjoyable and a good starting point to practice.
