Our teacher “penny” was an absolute delight. She was friendly and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and the equipment we used was great I would definitely recommend this to friends - it was worth the money
My only complaint is - the heat was unbearable! We were only in the heat for one hour - but your staff have to endure that heat all day which I felt was poor reflection on your company
Kind regards
Lorraine darcy

I was lucky enough to be the only participant so had a great time with Amy. The kit is great so can play more at home. The time flew by. Would recommend to anyone who want to try paint pouring

The lady was lovely and gave good explanations as she was demonstrating the technique.
The Venue should have provided toilet facilities, was told they were for staff only. The tables should have been longer, it all felt a bit squashed for five people working. But overall I’m glad I attended, it was good to actually try out the technique. I felt I learned a lot about the setting up and what would be needed to take this skill further.

Niharika Singh Jun 2022

It was very fun and relaxing. Got to be messy with the paints. Enjoyed a lot.

Rosalyn Everett Jun 2022

I recently attended the paint pouring workshop at Hobbycraft, Hull, which was an excellent and enlightening experience. The venue was excellent and the tutor, Louise, was excellent and had patience and able to explain in detail the techniques involved as well as being able to answer enquiries. I created a couple of canvases and was pleased with the results. The box of equipment provided with this course was excellent value for money and of good quality. Overall, I would highly recommend this course to anyone with an interest in the techniques of paint pouring. I also purchased "The Art of Paint Pouting" book from the store afterwards, which I highly recommend.

Rita Smith Jun 2022

The teacher was fantastic and explained things very clearly as well as giving tips on other techniques to use. All the paints and equipment were provided and I completed 2 projects and really enjoyed the experience.

Anita Szabo Jun 2022

Ysanne Johnson Jun 2022

I was the only participant for this acrylic pouring workshop, so had one to one.
The space was pretty small so I was pleased it was only me.
I wish I could remember the lady's name, but she was fab.
I lurved the kit and there was plenty left to use at home.
It was a wonderful relaxing experience and I would thoroughly recommend doing this.
Many many thanks for such a pleasurable hour with you learning this fab art.

I went with my friend and we both enjoyed the class so much! The teacher was lovely and the activity itself was great. I’ve never done acrylic paint pouring before but I will definitely be trying it again. The materials were high quality and I loved that we got to take the pack home with us. Great value for money too, would definitely recommend if you are into creative activities.

Andrea Kay Jun 2022

Very small relaxed class. Teacher was great and really looked after us. I was very surprised by the amount of materials in the kit, there is plenty of paint to do all 4 A5 canvasses and the square box canvas and the colours are a really good mix. I loved the lesson and am so looking forward to picking my finished pieces up in a couple of days.

Jayden was lovely he did a great job showing us what to do and helping us.

Sue Smith Jun 2022

Did my first ever acrylic pour under the guidance of our fun tutor Alex. The class is in the centre of the shop with 4 chairs and a table. Aprons donned. I opened the beautifully wrapped box contains the 47 piece art set, which included 10 paints, spatulas, pouring cups, 4 small canvasses, pipettes and wooden box canvass. Alex showed us how to do a straight pour and how to move the canvass around to make beautiful paintings but also encouraged us to be adventurous and not worry about the mess (there was a fair bit of mess created but so much fun). He then showed how to do a ripple pour and blowouts. My only negative would be to have more time and perhaps brung your own small protective gloves as the plastic ones are huge. Excellent value for money as you get to take the gift box home and also collect your creations 2 days later. Thank you also the friendly staff at Hobbycraft.

This workshop was excellent! Vicky was very pleasant and helpful, the kit we were given was amazing value, with everything for the class and plenty to take home and practice. The venue could have been slightly improved by separating it from the shop floor. I would definitely recommend the workshop to friends.

Alex our tutor for the hour was fab, fun & very helpful. I was given a box of all my own supplies to use in the workshop as well as to take home after. And I happily have loads left over despite my best efforts of using a lot at the time!
This workshop is great fun & I believe it’s ideal for anyone lacking in confidence in trying out something new. Just be prepared to get a bit messy It seemed the more paint I had on my hands the more fun I was having!

Faye was amazing. Obviously very passionate about art and painting in particular which made it a joy. As did her guidance. We watched her demonstration before having a go ourselves. I’m thrilled with how my poured paint pics have come out! I can’t wait to collect them!

The venue was great. Nice open table and the great, handy kits provided. Nice selection of paints right out the box to get started with.

Great value for money in my opinion. You get tuition, a nice work area and you get to keep the paints to use again!

I would happily do another Art course. It was brilliant!

Francesca Galli Jun 2022

Apart from the lift not working (I'm disabled luckily not in my wheelchair today) this was a great session. Sue was great she helped me on the stairs and carried everything for me. We had a good time chatting about different things how to mix paint & I experimented with different things. Good advice on different things to try. I was pleased with my first attempts.

The kit is a good starting point. You'll be taking your art home so remember to line your car boot with a bin bag or similar in case of paint run.

Really enjoyed it.

The teacher explained the format of the lesson in great detail. We used a room for the lesson which was fine but thankfully there was only the teacher and myself as the space was small. I was extremely pleased with the kit provided it had everything I needed for the class. The teacher demonstrated the technique I needed to try really well and I had ample time to have a go. Our teacher Alex was fun, her suggestions for our pouring class worked well and she was enthusiastic. It was great to see she enjoyed the class as much as we did.
The parcel was so much fun to open even though we knew what was in it!
It contained everything we needed, my only criticism, the hour was not quite long enough. We were fortunate to be able to overrun a little.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our time.

Alison Riddy May 2022

It was really valuable to have a go at a new craft with guidance. Like a risk-free way of just having a go. I was amazed at the kit and accessories you got for the money, was like Christmas! It was very relaxed and you could go at your own pace. Georgia was lovely and easy to talk to; it didn't feel awkward that it was just me. I did x5 mini canvases and took a larger one home to do.

Deepa Patel May 2022

Session was ok but no real instruction given as much as last was very kind …not sure if the instructor knew any much more it was very much do. your own thing. Was hoping for more advice in paints and techniques plus No one tells you that it’s impossible to transport the work it’s very wet with dense fluid- poorly packed on a box with paper underneath so not flat and the paint went all over car so more damage … the art work looked good for a moment in the shop but the pattern all bled together in car… they need to explain that before committing but it was a good experience plus they make you use paints etc from a gift pack they give you….not quiet what we were expecting ….this is not how the art work looks after car ride and driving very very slowly

Wonderful, helpful and fun staff. Susan and Andy were a blast and Susan was knowledgeable enough to cater to our level and adapt it to suit our needs as we went. This was a surprise gift to my two friends so the presentation of the kitsbto start with was a beautiful and unexpected surprise even for me. Lots of fun. I would have booked a third space for myself if I'd have known to contact you direct I just assumed that all the spaces had been taken not that it was limited to two. Know now that it always worth contacting the store to check numbers of courses that the store have rightly set limits to to ensure excellent service user experience and quality tutor time. As a teacher, who regularly crafts with groups, I was impressed with the service. I will be back for more events! Have lots more photos if you'd like them!

Jane Syrett May 2022

Connor the tutor was excellent, full of enthusiasm & good at putting over ideas of how to use the fluid paints in different ways. There was adequate space to operate. A set of 10 paints plus mixing cups, stirrers, palette knives & silicone, 4 small boards and 1 larger art panel. The materials were of good quality and I really enjoyed using them. The class was reasonable value for money - I would have liked another half an hour & then it would have been great. Connor suggested that I work on the 4 small boards and do the art board later when I was more experienced & that was good advice. I learnt what fun the medium is, but that you do need to be careful of not getting your paint all over the place
I had a very enjoyable hour

Catherine Begley May 2022

Sue was amazing. She had great ideas and very encouraging. Kit to take home is super.

Jade was THE BEST tutor. She was so clear in her instructions. Very patient and more importantly so inspiring. I came away buzzing with ideas to try, and to take paint pouring further. Venue always clean and welcoming at Ipswich/Martlesham. Pack contents and with the tuition included made the course good value for money. Would highly recommend.

Really enjoyed this workshop with Becky and it ended up I was the only one there which was great! It was just the boost I needed to start fluid art and any questions I had, Becky had the answers. We did 3 canvases which was very therapeutic and had others passing and commenting on the art! Just looking to see which workshop to do next!

Cristina Viadero Apr 2022

It was a lovely class. The kit is big and after class we still had a lot of paint left over. Definitely, good value for money. The teacher was nice and knowledgeable. I had a wonderful experience, will continue to attend other classes.

I attended the fluid art workshop today 25.4.22 in chingford.
The teacher was excellent - knowledgable, friendly and encouraging.
The venue was good. I had expected there may be shoppers that might stand and watch but no one did.
The materials seem good and I felt I learnt enough to begin with and that has given me the confidence to continue at home.
We ran over the hour and it was needed - a 1.5 - 2 hour class would be lovely as it was so enjoyable.

Sally Vowles Apr 2022

Great value for money. The price includes a pouring set for you to take home.
I was the only person attending so I received one to one tuition.
The tutor was motivated, energetic and knowledgeable.
Highly recommend this session

Ann was great as always and showed us various different techniques.
It was surprisingly therapeutic and potentially easily addictive!

This was great fun, Nicky the teacher was lovely and very patient, the material well organised and I was aloud to take the whole set home, to make some more mess at home. Good fun! The pictures actually surprised me most as they kept developing while drying, quite mesmerising actually. Loved it , good value as you got everything to do it again at home. Would recommend to everybody who does not mind letting things go there own way, nothing for control freaks, as every picture is a bit of a surprise

Admittedly,I was hesitant to spend this much money for a workshop but it was my 7year old’s wish for her birthday and it was well worth it. Peppa is an amazing teacher with a wealth of knowledge and lots of experience. She encouraged my daughter to try lots of different things and experiment (beyond the instructions on the box that is part of this workshop).Highly recommend this as an unforgettable experience to enjoy and continue doing at home.

Good beginners tutorial - the teacher explained how to use the materials and how to get some different effects. It was really nice to experiment and try different ways to move the paint. It was a good starter pack. The shop was not that busy so there were no interruptions and plenty of space.

Not sure if there should have been cake as this not materialise!

Lovely lady but a little timid.
Would be interesting to cover more in fluid art eg, Dutch pouring, open cup pouring etc. class could be made to last a little longer. I would suggest more knowledge required on different techniques and also regarding mixing paint with pouring medium or alternatives. I did enjoy the workshop and I did have fun.

The class was great, the teacher was knowledgeable and friendly.
The pace was good, not rushed at all.
She also looked after my canvases so they could dry in store and not get ruined on the drive home.
Highly recommended.

Jill Baker Mar 2022

This course was disappointing. The member of staff teaching it was nice however, she was reading from an instruction leaflet and was no more experienced than me in fluid painting. She also spent as much time helping other customers find what they were looking for (totally irrelevant to the workshop) as she did on teaching the class. The workshops clearly take place on the shop floor to sell the products but the staff teaching them should focus on the customers in the workshop and what they are there to teach.

Kirstie Stenson Mar 2022

Absolutely loved the paint pouring class. So much fun. Would definitely book again. Definitely worth the money

I was greeted by tutor Nicky H. Nicky gave me a large box which contained everything that I needed for course. There was paint, and tools needed with 4 flat canvases. Also a framed canvas that Nicky said is for my masterpiece when I was happy to do on my own. Nicky showed me three different methods - mixing paints , pouring paints , blending paints - using spatulas, clingfilm and by hand. The results of my three canvases were incredible. Had to lay canvases in box supplied to keep level. Nicky made the course interesting. Time flew by but I was never rushed. Nicky was encouraging and said their wasn't a right way or wrong way of doing things. Took photo of my canvases - unfortunately due to having to go downhill and over speed humps my canvases did run a bit I would recommend this course for all ages.

I really enjoyed my fluid art workshop at the Basingstoke store. I have never tried this before and am not very good at art, but my instructor Lucy showed me examples that she had done and explained how to use the paints and oil and what affects they would have. Lucy carefully guided me, allowing me to make my own choices and design. I am very happy with the outcome All the paints and tools I needed were included in the workshop in a starter kit and I was able to take this home at the end. Lucy also kindly offered to keep my paintings at the store while they dried so they were not spoilt on the way home. I’m looking forward to picking them up in a few days. Thank you Lucy for a wonderful afternoon.

David Alford Mar 2022

The teacher was good, and created a welcoming friendly and relaxed learning environment. The students attending are provided with a good-sized kit of paints & accessories (including a substantial stout box for transporting the finished paintings home). During the class a plentiful supply of paints was offered, (so that the student doesn’t have to use up their own paints from the kit-box during the class). A plentiful supply of gloves was provided to keep your hands clean during the paint pouring procedures. (Given that one takes home a good supply of unused materials, I think the class is good value for money). The teacher Instructed three different types of paint pouring technique, (so I left the class with three completed paintings). I now feel a bit more confident in the basics of how to do paint pouring, and the ways in which the paint can be manipulated, and learned to embrace the somewhat uncontrollable, random and surprising nature of the paint patterns that occur, when pouring paint. If you’re interested in paint pouring, I would definitely recommend attending this beginners class before trying to teach yourself techniques from a textbook.

All in all good value for money and very interesting.

Melvin Tysoe-Jones Feb 2022

Firstly I must say that Susanna, my tutor, was brilliant. She was very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly.
The room was practical and suitable for the purpose and I was surprised by the quantity of paints and accessories I was given to work with and take home afterwards.
I did two paint pouring pictures and I was happy with the results, and I also learned about paint consistencies' needed for pouring and received advice on how to move the paint around the board surface to give the best results.
I thought the workshop overall was very good value for money and would recommend it to anyone with similar interests.

I was very pleased with the variety and quantity of the supplied materials which I thought good value for money and found the venue perfectly acceptable.
I would recommend bringing an apron or overall to protect clothing because it is quite a messy but very enjoyable process.

Amazing hour run by Becky who was fantastic. Didn’t know what to expect except it would be messy, and it was! Such fun though, only wish the class was longer. Maybe extra 1/2 hour would have been beneficial to tutor and pupils. The box of materials provided were outstanding. Far more than I expected which made it great value. I attended the evening class at Reading and was please to see that the class was set-up and started on time. We were a class of two, so it was nice to see and bounce ideas with someone as well as the tutor. Christine was our tutor, very easy-going and informative and made us feel comfortable and relaxed. She discussed various techniques and we were able to complete two pours each in the time allotted - which shot past very quickly. The large beginner kit, that was included in the price, was just right to start with; we were also given a framed board to use along with the canvases in our kit. I recommend taking along an apron and some hand wipes - it can get quite messy :) All in all it was a very pleasant and informative hour. Thank you Christine and Pat.

Great value for money.
Got some great tips for different pouring techniques.
Time went super fast.
The only downside is getting the wet artwork home.
Fluid art is not as simple as it looks on Instagram thats for sure.

Devinder Gabri Feb 2022

Learnt the techniques needed for fluid art . The teacher was great . Course was good value for money . Kit provided had everything needed to get started.

Caryn Rushby Jan 2022

Really good value for money and very enjoyable. The only thing I would suggest is to provide a disposable apron and some extra disposable gloves otherwise teacher was pleasant and a good inspiration.

Suman Vohra Jan 2022

Danielle our teacher was very clear with her instructions and very patient.
She showed us the different techniques very nicely. Also gave added tips. At the end she showed us where we could buy more colours , board etc.
I will definitely recommend this class.

Highly recommended workshop on this wonderful craft.

An excellent introduction to acrylic paint pouring for people that have never attempted it before. The teacher was fantastic and took the time to answer any questions being asked. It was nice to be able to have a hands on approach and be able to try it after a demonstration

Melanie Mehta Jan 2022

Stacey was our tutor & there were only 2 of us & Ester was there training.

We got a new starter pack but there were paints available as well so you didn’t have to use the new ones.

Stacey made it fun, encouraged us to be messy & just play. We had time to play with different techniques especially when things didn’t go so well. We could try things to see the effect of the paint/heat gun/hairdryer. There was no pressure to produce.

Great fun. I wasn’t great but will definitely have another go. The hour went too fast!

Audrey Faulkner Jan 2022

I really enjoyed this workshop, first time using paint pouring. Amy was great and gave a lot of hints and tips and looking forward to collecting my paintings. I found an hour wasn’t long enough, could do with being an hour and half to 2 hours.

Susan Kitson Jan 2022

Jo was very informative and very helpful she gave us many opportunities to ask questions and was able to give practical answers. I wasn't aware that the piece of art would have to dry so not able to bring home with me. This could be pointed out to future participants. The cost is value for money as the kit has all the items you need to start with.

Dawn Taylor-Williams Jan 2022

Great class, lovely teacher. Bit disconcerting doing class on a table in the middle of the store but teacher dealt with all customer interruptions (customers asking where things were etc) smoothly and politely.

Claudia Cole Jan 2022

Small space needed to be bigger.
She painted 3 pieces we did 1 !
A a

Teresa Murray Jan 2022

Gisela was friendly & knowledgeable. We had a great time with fluid art. The kit was very comprehensive and I was allowed to leave my masterpieces in the shop until they're dry enough to put in my car.
Will definitely be booking more courses as they're such good value & so much fun. Really needed to schedule in some 'me time' and this was exactly the thing to do.

I really enjoyed my fluid art workshop with Joy. She explained the procedures clearly and answered all my questions.
The room was suitable for a small class. Only thing missing was tea /coffee making facilities!
The paints that came with the kit were great and enough to practise later at home.
I think the price was reasonable, particularly as I was lucky enough to have 1:1 tuition!
I would recommend this workshop for anyone wanting to try something new. I'm looking forward to continuing it at home.

Caroline Cannon Jan 2022

The teacher was fantastic excellent session and lots of materials to take home . Great thanks

On the plus side I was the only attendee which gave me more one to one time and discussion with Ben. The down side of this was that There were no discussions or exchange of ideas with a group of people. Had I been informed that I was the only one, I might have deferred to a later date with more people.
Ben was really helpful, provided good environment and useful ideas. I was really pleased with my first attempt at paint pouring and the equipment provided/supplied was excellent. Thanks to Ben.

The workshop was great. Nicki, our teacher, showed us 3 different pouring techniques, achieving 3 items with different effects and patterns. The kit provided had everything we needed for the workshop, and more! Lots of different paint colours, including silver and gold, canvases, and other accessories. Nicki was very friendly and helpful, giving us lots of confidence to try the different techniques. I would highly recommend that course for anyone who wants to get that art a go

Anonymized Customer Dec 2021

The starter set is huge. We all completed two pieces in the class and this took up all the time but good to be able to take away all our remaining set for more pouring at home. Plenty of space at the class and even Christmas music in the background. Great to see some art that our tutor Rob had prepared already. Collection of art was advised a few days later to allow for drying. Art felt a bit oily so I sealed with product not included in kit once home. Great intro experience and now keen to do some more!

Maya Miltenov Dec 2021

It was really nice workshop.
Rachel, the girl that leaded it, was knowledgeable, helpful and gave clear instructions. She was also welcoming and smiled all the time. She also explained in detail the process, and it was easy to follow her step by step.
I totally loved the workshop and I'm planning to get a voucher as a present.

Louise Spencer Dec 2021

The instructor was ok - I felt the instructions could have been clearer, and more advice given.
The pack of equipment we got was very good. Hopefully I can use the rest to get better!

Rebecca Farquhar Dec 2021

Teacher,Donna, was brilliant. Had a fun and messy evening! Lovely and creative. Good explanation of the process.

Mhairi Albinson Nov 2021

Very nice tutor, generous with equipment, which justified the 4 stars.
To make it a great class, demonstrating a more advanced technique would be ideal

Suzy Gray Nov 2021

Whilst the tutor was very lovely, there was limited instruction. There wasn't sufficient space and there were no facilities to wash the paint off your hands. It would be helpful to advise people to bring an apron and it'd be helpful to have somewhere to let the art dry in store ready for collection at a later date.

Joan Brennan Nov 2021

The course was great fun, all the materials needed were provided and the course instructor was clear with her instructions and demonstrated the techniques well.
We came away with enough materials to try out the method at home.
Would recommend it to anyone interested in trying out fluid art for the first time.
The hour just flew by and we could have continued for longer!

Aisha Agoro Nov 2021

My Fluid Art Workshop in Croydon was Good.AJ was great. I was the only one that booked that day, it would have been nice to have maybe a couple other people there too but it didn’t matter too much. I have never tried fluid Art before and I think this is a good way of seeing if you like to work with this medium. I did feel it could be a little cheaper for what it was, I would recommend workshops at different technical levels i.e beginner and intermediate. The quality of the ready mixed pouring paint seemed ok and I learnt two techniques and I am to return for my ‘Artwork’ as it takes a while to dry; it’s nice that you can leave it there instead for struggling to transport extremely wet paint on canvas home. It is in the middle of the shop floor I wish they had the facility to have another room, or a designated area away from public spectators and general questions, that said , it wasn’t too bad (surprisingly I didn’t mind)but I can imagine on a busy weekend or peak hours it may be a bit much especially if you have anxiety issues. Overall I think it was a good experience.

Denise Pepprell Nov 2021

I had a great time, quite informative.
I was given the confidence to try fuild art

Geraldine Wright Nov 2021

Fluid art workshop was great fun with Tracy as our instructor. Fluid art is very messy so I would recommend bringing along your art apron to protect your clothes . The kit contained everything you needed to make wonderful Fluid art except it didn't come with any instructions so if you were bought this as a gift you wouldn't know what to do. Great , messy fun was had by all

Highly recommend this workshop! The person running it was so lovely, and very helpful. Everything was explained and all questions were answered.
The materials provided were incredible, a huge box full of paints, tools, and canvas.
For what was provided, along with the time of the staff, it was really well priced.
I’d definitely recommend this workshop to anyone who’s interested and I can’t wait to use my new supplies to try out what I’ve learnt at home!

Denise Holmes Nov 2021

This was a real adventure with great tutoring. I had never heard about fluid art and wanted to try something different. I found fluid art really frees you to be spontaneous and free - there is not right, but there is a great deal of scope for experimenting and just seeing what happens.
I love the feel of Hobbycraft, full of new possibilities. And the staff was great. I would recommend anyone having a go with something new, or improving a skill.

Jan Blackmore Nov 2021

Messy but fun class, came away with 2 works of art and supplies to create 3 more so value for money too. Thoroughly enjoyed my paint filled hour at hobbycraft

Great teacher, very enjoyable. She was helpful and informative. Love the kit we get to take home with us to explore Fluid Art further. Highly recommend. I will defunook more courses.

Maureen Gaskin Nov 2021

The tutor Dan was lovely and so well qualified in every area of arts and crafts. I had been expecting just a sales assistant to be running the class! The materials were nicely laid out and everything was explained . We were given a lovely box of materials to use and a brilliant pouring canvas to take home. We had 4 small canvas boards to work on in the class. Dan explained and demonstrated the various techniques which I found very interesting. I was pleased with what I managed to produce in the short time. The course was amazing value for money and I would like to do more of these courses in the future. It was also a nice quiet space in the shop where we weren’t surrounded by other shoppers. Was great. Thanks Dan

Michael Kelleher Nov 2021

Alice was a great teacher. I learned so much about this mysterious technique with plenty of tips to apply in my own efforts. The materials included in the class are more than enough to get me started.

Gemma Newton Nov 2021

Really enjoyed this session with Tina.
Tina helpful in techniques and others helped in being able to transport wet pictures in boxes to the car.
Good to see end product before you start.

So sorry I forget the young lady name who showed me and my sister what, how to use the kit and she was very good and demonstrated on all the equipment. She was cheerful and happy with us. The kit was very well thought out, and we used almost everything in the kit. The time limit is too short, especially when you're having fun. We had an amazing hr, neither of us had done anything like the Fluid Art before, enjoyed by us both. I can thank my daughter for booking this activity. Will definitely recommend and come back.

Lynn Mackay Nov 2021

Judith Webster Nov 2021

Really enjoyed the workshop with Dawn and was very surprised at how colourful and unusual the finished artwork looked. All the equipment was provided and there is plenty left to try it out at home. I was very lucky in one way that I was the only one enrolled on that course but it was a pity there was no one else there to enjoy it with and compare results. Nevertheless I will be enrolling in another course that has caught my eye. I am looking forward to collecting my "artwork" in a few days when it is dry.

Rosemary Tate Nov 2021

I really enjoyed this workshop. For me, this introduction to Fluid Art was excellent. Charlie, the tutor, explained everything very clearly and his instructions were easy to follow. The kit is more than than adequate for several fluid artworks at home, so the workshop was very good value.
The finished art panel , does, however, take quite a time to dry, so it has been left at Carlisle Hobbycraft to be collected later.

Lesleyanne De-Ste-Croix Nov 2021

The fluid Art Class was fantastic, I can not praise it enough.

Sam was an amazing teacher, I had so much fun learning fluid art with her and can not recommend her enough. The box of products was great, enough to do 4 designs and another to take home.

The store was clean and the art area well arranged.

Jack was my 'teacher' and he was great but as a person not as a teacher and I lay all the blame for this at Hobbycrafts door.
Hobbycraft recommend the fluid art class for and I quote -
'Whether you’re looking to brush up on your skills or you’re completely new to Fluid Art, this is a great way to learn simple techniques'.
The workshop will involve ring pouring and flip cup pouring, showing you different ways to pour your paint to achieve two beautiful results.

The Hobbycraft Artisan will take you through each step of the pouring process, guiding you with tips and tricks along the way'.

I am no expert at fluid art and was looking for guidance and as Hobbycraft suggests, 'it is to brush up on my skills'. Jack had only tried fluid art at home and was no more advanced then myself, so if you have never attempted this art then it's a good place to start but if you're on the same level as me then don't waste your money, I didn't need the craft box ( paints, canvas etc) as I have all these already, but was willing to pay the £40 for advice.

I had a rewarding time with Jack who is an asset to Hobbycraft but if Hobbycraft are going to promote these classes then they need to provide a member of their 'artisan staff' who has experience and more knowledge then the pupil.

Hobbycraft need to rewrite the description of the class because in my view it is false advertising.

Nicky Ross Oct 2021

Good, fun skill to learn. Messy workshop to do though, especially in the middle of the store.

Charlotte Norton Oct 2021

The class was really enjoyable and informative. All the materials we needed to make a lot of pictures were provided in individual boxes so we could bring it all home after. A very relaxing and enjoyable class.

Excellent! We were welcomed by Sally who explained what she was going to teach us and all the equipment and tools. She taught the art of fluid painting extremely well and we came away with a good knowledge of the craft and the confidence to try ourselves at home. The venue was clean and well organised and located well in store. The workshop was for my 16 year old niece who thoroughly enjoyed her experience and was really impressed by the pieces she created and what she’d learned. All staff were very friendly and both myself and my niece would highly recommend this workshop - well done and keep up the good work!

Jane McWhirter Oct 2021

Really enjoyed this Fluid Art Workshop. The teacher was very good and informative. The venue was fine. We had plenty room to lay out our materials. The premixed paints worked well and we were able to get cells to form in our art. I bought some extra paints to supplement the ones provided in the kit as I have a large project in mind!

Paula Bates Oct 2021

Had been interested for some time in trying this fun craft. The tutor was friendly and helpful and I enjoyed it. There was plenty of paint but not everything in the kit was useful. This is a very messy thing to do and it was not a good idea that washrooms were closed, although staff did let us use them as it was necessary to wash hands. After the workshop we had panels with wet paint and no suitable way to take them home.

Lovely class learning new techniques with a lot of goodies to go home with. Can't wait to play with the set when I get a chance.

Margit Jones-Hochstrasser Oct 2021

Dan was great! He was extremely attentive and incredibly helpful. He made the hour disappear in no time. The workshop was interactive, hands on, fun and great value. An extra hour to explore some medium options and learn I.e. more cell activation work and what to do if we want to start from scratch would have been fab. Definitely worth the time and every minute. The starter set was a great benefit in addition to coming away with three of my own art pieces! ☺️
A wonderful introduction to fluid art seeing immediate results. I wholeheartedly recommend this workshop.
