  • 5/5 from Giuliana Leoncino, attended Oct 2026: Received a voucher for this class for my birthday, and ended up spending a lovely evening with my friend! Out of all the crafts I’ve tried, this was probably my favourite. The teacher explained everything thoroughly and helped when we needed, and I’m happy with the little notebook we bound!

  • 5/5 from S Solma, attended Sep 2026: Kate was a very good teacher, explained everything clearly. We barely scratched at the surface her knowledge- wish we had more time with her- another class, perhaps. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Lucy Clemson, attended Aug 2026: I enjoyed this taster tremendously and it’s left me wanting to learn even more. The tutor was great - calm, helpful and very clear in her instructions. We learned how to make a small cloth-covered book from scratch. Most of all, I appreciated that all the tools and materials were provided and that we were able to take our projects home, which I think made excellent value for money.
  • 5/5 from Jennifer Allen, attended Jul 2026: I came home with my own little hand made book! I’m so pleased with it. Kate taught us the basics of book binding. I will most definitely attempt to recreate my book because I’m always journaling! This beginners book binding workshop has inspired me to explore further classes or/and courses.

  • 5/5 from Michelle Heywood, attended Feb 2026: The bookbinding course was great fun, and our tutor taught us clearly and slowly. I have a great bound notebook to keep and will be seeking out more bourses. The tea and cake was an unexpected bonus half way. What a brilliant way to Dorns an evening on hump day!
  • 5/5 from Ashley Dangerfield, attended Feb 2026: Very enjoyable, and informative. Great introduction to book binding. Person running event is very knowledgable and friendly. Location is very nice and best bit is you get tea and cake mid way through and a chance to have a chat with people around you.

  • 5/5 from Jessica Tonge, attended Aug 2025: A fantastic course for anyone interesting in getting a taste for book binding. Kate was very knowledgeable, patient and broke the process down into manageable chunks. Thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere with a great end product. More than just the basic pamphlet binding I've seen in other courses; I loved having a hard cover mini book to take home. The space is delightful and very inviting. Can't recommend this course enough.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Mears, attended Jul 2025: Really enjoyed the class. It was very relaxed and the pace suited us all. I was thrilled with the end result and learned a little about the fantastic art of book binding along the way. I would love to do more
  • 5/5 from Jane Andrew, attended Jul 2025: Excellent teaching by Kate. She gave us exactly the right amount of information on what to do at each stage, so made us feel confident and gave us great results. She'd prepared everything so well for us that she made a complicated skill easy for us beginners. The class was a gift to me, and I'd definitely buy it for someone else if Kate was doing it.
  • 5/5 from Johannie Houde, attended Jul 2025: Kate was a great teacher and what we made a little time was amazing!
  • 5/5 from Marilena Grattacaso, attended Jun 2025: Amazing class! Kate was very patient and attentive as we were creating our very first notebook, she gave us plenty of useful and interesting information and gave us a panoramic on the beautiful book binding world. Highly recommended, can't wait to attend a new book binding class
  • 5/5 from Graham Peppiatt, attended May 2025: Excellent introduction to book binding. Great teacher. Kate certainly knows her stuff. Venue is a little small but just right for the number of people. Great evening and I will definitely be interested in taking more courses.
  • 5/5 from Evelin Gaal, attended Jan 2025: If you are even a tiny bit interested in book binding, go for this course! Kate (our teacher) is brilliant, she is very knowledgable, she is an artist book binder and a fantastic teacher. I was so impressed with the level of technicality I gained during this short workshop. Not to mention the fun of creating your own notebook, which is just stunning. Thank you Kate for a fantastic experience :)
  • 5/5 from Laura Gomez Rios, attended Jan 2025: It was very cool
  • 5/5 from Marie Burr, attended Aug 2024: It was a great course plenty of help if needed. Kate had lots of interested knowledge.
  • 5/5 from Sam, attended Jun 2024: I didn’t imagine it was possible to make a case bound notebook in one short class before I did this course, but that’s exactly what we did. Everyone came away with a beautiful, unique notebook of their own making which looked as good as any from a shop, if not better! Kate was a fantastic teacher - everything was explained and demonstrated clearly, with the class being well-paced and assistance given if required (which wasn’t often as the instruction was so good). The materials provided were superb quality and everyone had their own set of professional tools to use during the class. I’d never tried bookbinding of any kind before and I was delighted with what I accomplished. I’d absolutely recommend this course to anyone who enjoys making things, appreciates beautiful books/stationery or gets a sense of accomplishment hand crafting something personal, unique and special.

Hey, I’m Jane, and I’m obsessed with all things crafty! If it involves glue, yarn, paint, or paper—chances are, I’ve tried it. I started Tea and Crafting back in 2009 as a cosy, welcoming workshop space in Covent Garden because I wanted to share my love of crafting with everyone.
I totally get that life is busy, so I made it my mission to offer fun, relaxed, and totally doable craft workshops—no six-week commitment required! Just pop in, get creative, and walk away with something amazing (even if you think you're “not crafty”).
Fast forward 12 years, and I’m still here, sharing the magic of making alongside a fantastic team of expert crafters. Because honestly? Crafting isn’t just about being good at it—it’s about the joy, the creativity, and that unbeatable feel-good factor. So, come craft with us! ️
