Led by an experienced baking teacher, this London dessert class is jam-packed with baking tips and creative ideas. You'll learn to make three different recipes and will be shown a range of different techniques for each, gaining useful skills that you can use in your future home baking.
You'll learn to bake:
- Moist chocolate cupcakes, frosted with chocolate mascarpone cream.
- Lemon, ginger and poppy seed bundt cake.
- Jam sandwich biscuits.
You'll learn the essential skills you need to prepare a cake and cupcake batter, as well as the role and importance of each ingredient in achieving a good bake. You'll also learn to prepare frosting and the technique for flawless piping.
In addition, you'll learn to prepare the perfect shortcrust pastry for biscuits and tarts. Mastering the techniques needed for perfect consistency and flavour.
With support from your expert teacher, you'll gain the confidence you need to bake on your own, enhancing your ability to improve your own recipes and be creative with your future home baking.
Learning in a relaxed environment, you'll soon settle into your London baking class. You'll pick up new skills through demonstrations from your welcoming teacher and through easy to follow instructions. This is a fun, hands-on class with a maximum of four in a workshop to ensure you gain a solid understanding of all the baking techniques covered. Tea and coffee will be available to fuel your creativity and you'll finish up your class with lots of delicious cakes and biscuits, made by you, to take home.
Please note: Public dates require a minimum number of two students to run. In the unlikely event that we don't get this number of students, you'll be informed and rescheduled/refunded prior to the class.

Hi there, my name is Valeria Suppa, I'm an Italian baking teacher and food stylist based in London. I started as a self-taught baker, before receiving my professional training and working as a baker and cake decorator in a bespoke cakes parlour. My expertise ranges from cakes to patisserie and desserts of all sorts, with a special focus on Italian baking.
I have years of experience teaching classes for all levels, both in-person and online. I always try to make every baking experience entertaining and informative at the same time.
During the last 13 years, I've lived in different countries around Europe and South America, learning a lot about different techniques, new ingredients and unusual flavour combinations. I speak fluent English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.
