What you'll do

Fluid art, also known as acrylic pouring, is a wonderfully creative form of abstract art. Join an experienced teacher and learn to create your own piece of fluid art at this fun painting class in London.

Acrylic pouring is a fun experience that allows you to experiment, express yourself and learn every time. Using different additives and mediums, you can create a wonderful range of effects. Sometimes you can create a masterpiece in a way you would never have imagined! It's a brilliantly versatile and surprising way of creating art – let yourself unwind and express yourself freely.

This fluid art class is ideal for beginners and gives you an introduction to this form of art. Your teacher will share their own recipe for creating acrylic poured paintings and you'll learn how to use a range of additives and techniques to mix some paint that'll give you some really cool pictures.

You will make two or three small pieces of art to take home during your workshop (and your teacher will give you boxes to help you transport them safely). As well as learning how to pour paint and create fluid artworks, you'll also learn how to prepare your canvas for the best results, and how to finish your art off.

Packages:

Gold Package: This pouring medium is designed to help you create the perfect consistency for spectacular fluid art!

The pouring medium used for the premium package can be combined with acrylic paint for a smoother, thinner solution, ready for fluid pouring. It will prevent colours from mixing together when poured together, helping to ensure you can create dazzling colour effects on canvas. The paint on your canvas will dry faster.

This makes it easier and faster to mix with better results. This is what we highly recommend.

The teacher was great. Very helpful.
My only criticism was that the venue was very small and cramped. Two classes were using a small room and we had very little room to move around.

Great teachers, and loved what I was able to create. and we learnt a couple of different techniques. I enjoyed the fact that there was no right or wrong design, you'd only be limited by your imagination and the colours you mixed to create your palette.
Venue was unfortunate - just a trek ads I am in North London, - I had thought that the venues would be central London focused that was disappointing.
The venue - The Mitre was however a great place for the class , when I got there, though we did have a problem with AC, there wasn't any , pretty hot day.

This was an incredibly fun class and definite value for money. My 12 year old daughter and I did it together and had great canvasses to hang in our home - a memorable birthday experience for both. I think the way the teachers could take it from good to great would be to explain a bit more about the technique and why it works the way it did - I would have loved to know what the different materials we used were and why they produced the beautiful effects that they did. But regardless, highly recommend!

It was a good class with some cool canvas's to take home. The teacher was lovely and obviously knew a lot about the art and how to do it. However the reason I've not scored higher is because of how difficult it was to transport the canvas's home without ruining them - if I'd come to the class alone it would have been really hard to get the train home! Also, the others in our class had purchased a more expensive package and it felt like the class was more catered to them as they had better quality materials so had to do things slightly differently, which meant we had to wait while they got started. Also the class was only 90 mins for us which I'm not sure represents as much value for money.

The venue was nice (maybe a bit cramped) and the teachers were quite good. At times their instructions were a bit quiet but other than that it was fine. One thing I would improve is the packaging. I was led to believe we would get some more professional packaging but we were just told to put our wet canvases into pizza boxes. When I tried to remove them from the box after I got home the paint was stuck to the bottom of the box.

Venue was good the class was fun. The teaching staff were all helpful, likeable, knowledgeable and encouraging. The teacher led the class well and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. I believe everyone came away knowing they'd created at least one lovely piece of art.

Teachers were lovely, inviting and had great banter. It was a lovely evening out that had good vibes, plus the location of it being within a pub was different but great on access for drinks and snacks. Materials included were great and it was fun being creative and finding your inner artist. The only recommendation I would give is possibly a clear, plastic sheet or perhaps bubble wrap to be inside the boxes our art work was placed in to take home. The paint was still runny in the box after class ended and had spilled within it. It would be easier to remove the canvas from the boxes if there was a lining inside.
Apart from that, great class and I will be looking into more classes from the team :)

Cute venue (above a pub) and encouraging and friendly teachers. My 2 canvases came out great and they provided us with boxes to transport them home which was handy.

Only thing was that the venue was a bit small and I could imagine in the summer very hot too!

This enables you to enjoy creating your own work in a fun environment with the support of Melissa, who is able to give advice/answer questions when required. Great venue. Instructors were very welcoming and helpful during the class. There was plenty of space and good choice of equipment and materials were provided. You can take your creations home in a large bin bag to prevent getting messy.

We had a great evening doing the paint pouring and they all look fab! The instructors were lovely and up lifting when talking about our work and giving tips. The demos were interesting but a little bit slow I would say? I think everyone was just too keen to get going! They came to our office and bought plenty of supplies and covers to keep everything clean. I am shocked there isn't a drop of paint anywhere! All in all, an interesting activity and everyone had fun!

My son loved the acrylic pouring class with Melissa! Melissa was very helpful, friendly and gave Maximus some good tips and advice on where to buy certain art products from. The location in St Katherine docks in the Slug and Lettuce was perfect. I was able to drink my tea whilst watching my son! I highly recommend Melissa who clearly is very talented, so anyone looking for a fun workshop with friends or going solo, hit her up! ( I know she provides other kinds of classes like Pottery too)

Great session, and great easy to access venue. We made 4 A4 size canvases that all represented a different technique of acrylic pouring. I was lucky enough to enjoy a great one-to-one (unexpectedly) 2-hour session with Melissa on acrylic pouring! The class took place outdoors, which made a change! Melissa was clearly passionate about and knowledgeable of her craft- she would carefully explain and demonstrate the different pouring techniques before I was let loose with the paints. I loved the effects that were created from pouring and was very pleased with the four canvases of original artwork that I went home with!
