Enjoy the online class - after booking, you'll get a pre-recorded video with instructions. You're welcome to ask the teacher any questions you have.

Get crafty in this felting, virtual experience. You'll learn a new textile art and make a sweet piece of DIY home decor that will add a pop of colour to any room.

You will be sent a craft kit with all the necessary materials included, as well as some equipment. Anything else you need to bring can be found around the home and are easy to get your hands on.

We'll also send you an instructional video to follow where you will follow your experienced teacher through the steps of wet felting. You'll be using a variation of the 2D wet felting techniques and learn how to use a resist. It's a great way to pick up a new skill that can be used time and time again.

Learn the vital layering and felting techniques you need to make and shape your vessel. Then it's time to let your creativity shine as you embellish however you want.

By the end of this online class, you will have a wet felted pot that can hold rings, keys, loose change, a cactus and more. Then use your skills to keep up this DIY craft at home and keep making more things with wet felt. You can make slippers, bags, cat caves, hats, hot water bottle covers, lampshades, purses, phone covers, the list goes on!

Please note: If you're planning on making your vessel(s) on a particular day, please remember I need to post the kits to you. If you are purchasing more than one kit, please let me know at checkout so I can bundle the postage accordingly.

Add-on available for this class
  • equipment - sharp scissors, spray bottle & sturdy cardboard tube (£10)
You can add these when you book (optional).

Knowledge required
This experience is great for those of you who already know the basics of 2D wet felt making but complete novices have also successfully completed beautiful vessels too.

What you'll get in your craft kit
  • merino wool tops (please let me know which from the colours page of my website)
  • embellishing fibres
  • resist
  • bubble wrap if you don't have any
  • piece of fine netting
  • chunk of olive oil soap
  • pre-workshop instruction sheet
  • link to the How to section video tutorial on my website followed by a password
What you'll need
  • Sharp embroidery or textile scissors. If you don’t own any of these nail scissors make a good stand-in.
  • A sturdy cardboard tube (tape over any sticky areas). I find the best tubes are from tin foil or cling film. If you haven’t got one ready for recycling pop an unfinished roll inside a carrier bag and seal.
  • A plant mister or repurposed spray bottle full of warm water with a squirt of washing up liquid in (I use Ecover). If you haven’t got either of these a plastic carrier bag/large food bag and a bowl of warm water.
  • A couple of tea towels or hand towels or old T-shirts.
  • A work area (approximately 1m2) that you’re not bothered about getting a bit wet (or cut open a bin liner and work on top of that)
Suitable for

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 15 years old).

An adult must be present whilst kid(s) engage with the box.

This would also be a lovely gift for her, gift for mum or birthday gift.
