This intensive and fun cooking course is perfect if you're looking to complete a yachting season as a host or onboard cook.
Guided by expert chefs, you'll learn a range of delicious dishes and be instructed on a number of useful hosting tips which you'll find invaluable when out at sea. Your experienced teachers are full of tips and tricks for what they like to call yacht-keeping (it's housekeeping, but at sea!).
Starting with the basics all the way to dinner party food, you'll learn how to cook without a cookbook so you can transfer your skills to other recipes and create things from scratch. You'll be prepared for your cooking journey with delicious recipes, including those suitable for guests with specific dietary requirements. You'll also learn a range of time-saving techniques to make your time as a host that much easier and smooth sailing.
Every morning of your ten-day cooking course will start with a demonstration from a knowledgeable chef to prepare you to go ahead and cook the dish yourself. Having made and eaten your own lunch, you will then sit down for the second demonstration of the day, providing you with insight for your afternoon cooking session.
Each day you'll learn new skills and cook different recipes, whilst mastering useful basic and intermediate kitchen skills. From breakfasts and light lunches to sophisticated suppers all the way to kitchen organisation and hosting – you'll build your recipe repertoire and your confidence with ease.
As well as preparing you to be the best host and cook that you can, your expert teachers will also assist you with tips and guidance on your CV - helping you to boost your chances of gaining a job at sea. The hard work will all be worth it when you're sitting on a beautiful deck watching the sun go down.
By the end of your cooking course, you'll be able to overcome the storms that yacht season life can throw at you so you can spend more time doing the fun stuff!
