Workshop 925 launched in January 2019 and is based at The Mayford Centre, which is nestled between Guildford and Woking in Surrey.The workshop was launched by Kirsten Hendrich after several years teaching within adult education facilities, alongside running her own jewellery brand, Kirsten Hendrich Jewellery.Kirsten often felt frustrated at large class sizes, the lack of specialist equipment, and solid workbenches to allow students to really blossom. So, she began her vision, which was to create the perfect learning environment for jewellers of all levels to come and learn new skills using professional equipment, providing the best chance possible for students to learn the technical and business skills of the trade within small class sizes, enabling plenty of one-to-one tutor support to aid effective learning.Workshop 925 is also home to an amazing team of tutors who share Kirsten’s passion for jewellery making, craft, and all things handmade. Together they bring you their knowledge, tips, and enthusiasm for the industry in the classes they teach and in the workshop environment.Our EthosWe pride ourselves on providing a welcoming environment for our students to come and develop their skills. We understand everyone has different aims and goals; some may come along with an aspiration to develop a jewellery-based business, while others come along to learn a new hobby, escape, and delve into a creative space.We allow you to explore all areas of jewellery making, from stone setting, press forming, enamelling, fold forming, keum boo, reticulation, granulation, polishing, piercing, soldering, stringing, etching, to there is a lot to learn!We understand that each and every student who comes through our doors is different, and we will work hard to help you develop following your unique path.We are self-confessed tool addicts; therefore, you can expect to find a wide range of tools to use for your projects to help you explore new techniques. We never stop developing our workshop to make it the best it could possibly be.Most of all, you can expect to find a team of bright, happy, enthusiastic tutors there to help you discover jewellery making in an environment that is relaxed, fun, and encouraging, with a shared determination to help you each succeed.
