What you'll do
Take part in a woodworking workshop in London led by the team at Yes Make -- a welcoming, sustainable craft space where reclaimed materials are transformed into something beautiful. This relaxed session is a great opportunity to learn the foundations of woodworking while creating your own set of handmade wooden candle holders.This workshop is completely beginner-friendly and designed for anyone curious about working with wood, whether you’re brand new or looking to build confidence with tools. You’ll be supported throughout by experienced tutors who are there to guide, encourage, and help bring your ideas to life!What to expect:
- A warm introduction to Yes Make, their sustainable ethos, and your tutors.
- An overview of the tools and materials you’ll be using, with a story behind the reclaimed wood sourced from across London.
- Guidance on safe tool use and basic woodworking techniques.
- Time to design and make your own wooden candle holders -- follow a suggested style or create something entirely your own.
- The flexibility to make two candle holders, one more detailed piece, or several smaller designs depending on your creativity and pace.

Using reclaimed wood the team can offer workshops and courses to use the materials and turn materials that would otherwise be considered waste into something new and creative. Yes Make was founded by Joel, a skilled woodworker with over 20 years' experience, continuing a family tradition that spans four generations. Yes Make is an initiative that transforms London's fallen trees - up to 10, 000 a year - into practical and meaningful items for the community.Located in a community garden, Yes Make provides a welcoming space where participants can learn essential woodworking techniques, work with high quality reclaimed wood and contribute to projects that give back to the community. Joel and his team are committed to making woodworking accessible, sustainable and impactful.
