Wire Jewellery Workshop

Create your own unique piece of handmade jewellery using just wire, pliers, your hands and wrapping techniques. Adding glass beads for colour and texture, you’ll experiment with copper wire and the stitching and wrapping techniques I’ll teach you to create different effects, finally bringing all your work together to make your own jewellery, which we’ll oxidise to create a beautiful charcoal grey finish. Your necklace can be long or short, as you choose, with matching earrings too if time allows. If you wish to finish your necklace with a sterling silver chain too (instead of ribbon or necklace wire which is included) there will be the option to purchase this on the day for around £8, depending on current price of silver chains.During the workshop, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Learn wire-working techniques to create intricate jewellery.
• Explore colour combinations using a variety of glass beads
• Develop your design skills guided by an experienced wire work tutor

As you become absorbed in the creative process, you may find the hours flying by, replaced by a sense of artistic flow and camaraderie with your fellow crafters. By the end of the class, you'll have lovely handcrafted jewellery to take home, as well as the skills to continue exploring wire work further.All materials are provided, including a range of colourful glass beads and wires for you to choose from, ensuring your creation is as unique as you are.You'll leave the workshop not only with your beautiful wire jewellery, but also with the warm glow of accomplishment after a relaxing and sociable day spent learning a new craft.
