Armed with your camera we’ll go deep into Richmond Park – the largest enclosed space in London – to photograph herds of Red and Fallow deer. Following the workshop, you will also have the opportunity to receive feedback on your images in a one hour online session with your tutor.
In a natural environment, you’ll get a hands-on experience of observing and photographing wild animals. As with all of our photography workshops at City Academy, you will learn from professional photographers with years of experience, and your amazing photos will reflect the level of teaching.Â

This course requires a digital DSLR or mirrorless camera with full manual controls. Please also provide any necessary props and accessories such as memory cards and spare batteries. If you don't have a camera you can borrow one from us.

Recent reviews of Wildlife Photography Workshop in Richmond Park
- 4/5 from Alastair Kay, attended May 2026: I really enjoyed the class itself - a few hours of guided wandering around Richmond park with helpful tips about framing subjects, technique etc. Plenty of wildlife, mostly deer, geese and jackdaws. Most importantly, I got some really good photos :) However, some of the organisation around the day was a bit lacking. I was provided with no information in advance - I had to ask where we were meeting (the Richmond gate, and it really is just "hang around keeping an eye out for other people hanging around with camera kit") and what lunch arrangements were (you stop at a cafe for 45 minutes, where you can purchase food, refill water bottles and have a valuable loo break). The start was perhaps a little slow. We were supposed to be a group of 6, but one was a no-show. We got started with a basic briefing, but it still felt like we were hanging around the entrance for half an hour while, had we known the other person wouldn't turn up, some of that briefing would have been better done on the move. Then we were back at the entrance half an hour before the scheduled end of the session so that we could sit and review the photos on our camera. I hope that this is not in place of the described "Following the workshop, you will also have the opportunity to receive feedback on your images in a one hour online session with your tutor" although no mention has been made of this workshop. I would have preferred as much time as possible out in the park, and keeping all the photo reviews for the workshop. That said, I'm nitpicking. I really enjoyed my day and would do something similar in the future.
