Join this hands-on pottery and wheel-throwing workshop in Twickenham and enjoy a fun, relaxing, and informative session in a warm, welcoming studio environment. You'll be introduced to the foundational art of hand-building as you shape and craft your very own custom mug. After a detailed, step-by-step demonstration on how to centre and pull up clay on the pottery wheel, you'll have plenty of time to practise your new skills and create a one-of-a-kind throw-down masterpiece to call your own.
Getting stuck in and a bit mucky is all part of the absolute joy of working with clay. There's no need to worry about the mess – friendly guidance and aprons are provided to keep you covered. To make the most of your time on the wheel, short nails are ideal since your hands are your ultimate tools. If you're rocking glamorous nails, we'll absolutely find a creative way around it so you can still shape your clay with ease.
If you're looking for a wholesome plan to do together after school, kids over eight are incredibly welcome alongside an adult. The entire session will be playfully adjusted to match their fabulous imagination, ensuring your kids will love getting hands-on and exploring their creative side in a supportive, low-pressure space.
By the end of this clay experience, you'll enjoy an uplifting creative shift, walking away with a wonderful sense of confidence and a beautiful handmade keepsake that you can show off at home.
Please note: This workshop can be scheduled for either a Wednesday or Friday afternoon upon request. Please send a message to coordinate your preferred day.
What you'll get
At the end of the session, you can either choose one favourite creation to be glaze-fired for later collection (2-3 weeks) or opt for the experience only, and I will recycle the clay. Additional pieces can be fired for £10 each.
