2.5 hours

Class size 1 to 2 (public classes), 1 to 10
  £95

Weave your own cushion on a Japanese floor loom at London's only dedicated floor loom weaving studio. You'll choose your colours from our yarn wall with hundreds of sustainable and natural yarns, and weave the fabric for a cushion that's entirely yours.
No experience needed. Your loom will be set up and ready when you arrive. We will guide you through the whole process, from choosing your yarn to working the pedals and shuttle, so you'll be weaving confidently within minutes.
By the end of the 2.5-hour session, you'll have woven enough cloth for a finished cushion. We'll sew it up for you after the workshop and it'll be ready to collect or post.

Gentle instruction, encouragement and a surprisingly quick start to weaving - it’s easy to get going! Freeweaver Studio is a dedicated handweaving studio in Maritime Greenwich, founded by textile artist and weaver Erna Janine. Since 2017, we have introduced thousands of people to creative weaving through an intuitive approach developed from Japanese floor-loom practice.
Our Japanese floor looms are remarkably accessible for complete beginners, while offering experienced weavers the freedom to develop sophisticated and experimental work. Each loom is prepared and ready to weave, allowing newcomers to begin making cloth almost immediately, while more advanced weavers can explore colour, texture, structure and materials in greater depth.
