Wax Carving for Jewellery Making Workshop

Learn about working with wax in different ways to create jewellery designs ready to cast.

6 hours Class size 1 to 3 guests       £162 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Learn wax carving for jewellery in this one-day beginner's workshop held at a dedicated studio in Camden Town, London NW1. You'll discover how to create your own unique ring or pendant design in wax, explore different wax types, and experiment with various tools and techniques. Wax carving is ideal for creating master models for casting sculptural jewellery shapes that can be difficult to make directly from metal.
This intensive one-day activity covers the key skills needed to carve your own design. You'll have the opportunity to create a ring (or pendant if preferred) and potentially make test pieces to try different ideas. The focus is on providing a thorough grounding so you can continue developing your wax carving skills independently. While simple ring designs are often the most straightforward starting point, if you have a specific, more complex design in mind, it's advisable to discuss its feasibility for a one-day introduction with the tutor beforehand.
This workshop welcomes anyone over 18, whether you are a complete beginner or already have some jewellery making or craft skills. The class size is kept small, with a maximum of 3 participants, ensuring personalised attention.
You'll leave this comprehensive session feeling knowledgeable, with your own completed wax model(s) and a solid foundation in wax carving techniques.
