I'm so excited to offer this intimate ring-making workshop in Stratford, inspired by my love for Art Nouveau and wax carving. In this session on the 5th of October, you will learn about the art of wax carving and create your very own wax model for a ring.
This is a fantastic activity for a mindful morning of making! I'll explain a bit about the behind-the-scenes world of jewellery making, then guide you through how to design, create, and add a pattern to your wax piece. This workshop is the perfect opportunity to try something new in a relaxed and intimate setting, as there will be no more than six people per group.
I have loved putting these sessions together for you. You'll leave with your beautiful wax creation and the knowledge of how it can be transformed into a timeless piece of jewellery.
You’ll finish the morning with a wax model which can then be cast in silver or gold to be worn forever. Please be aware that this price is for the workshop only. If you would like your wax model cast into metal, there is an additional cost:
  • Casting in silver for £175
  • Casting in gold plate for £195
  • Solid gold casting is available, please ask for a quote
  • Adding gemstones is also possible, please ask for a quote

Hi! I’m Ella!
Born and raised in London, I trained in jewellery design at Central Saint Martins.
After graduation, I took a break from the bench and pursued a career in marketing in the arts and cultural sector.
Throughout my marketing career I had been quietly working on the brand outside my 9-5, in my tiny bedroom in a flat share (driving my friends slightly mad, as jewellery isn’t the quietest of crafts).
Over the coronavirus pandemic, I was furloughed from my ‘day job’ giving me the time I needed to grow the brand and get it to the point at which I wanted it to be at. Subsequently I was made redundant. Even though it didn’t seem like it at the time, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise - I moved back home, and threw everything I had into building the business and haven’t looked back since.
Having been fortunate enough to spend so much time in London, surrounded by some of the boldest art, architecture and style, there is no denying that London has had a big impact on the way I design. Lot’s of my time is spent wandering around all the amazing museums and galleries that I am lucky enough to have on my doorstep.
Over the years’ my designing and ways of working have evolved hugely. However, traditional silver-smithing techniques have remained at the core of every collection. Every last piece is made by me at my bench in my East London studio.
I taking influence from abstract sculpture the Modernist and Biomorphic movements, Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts, Expressionist, Impressionist art, antique jewellery, Modernist jewellery… and so much more. I design pieces for the unconventional wearer that are bold, modern and sculptural. I love rich texture, imperfection, curvy shapes, wavy lines, asymmetry and bright colours. I don’t ever want my jewellery to feel stuffy or too precious.
Ultimately, I make jewellery to be worn everyday, to become part of your identity, and cherished forever. I know it’s cheesy, but jewellery is such a great way to mark milestones and be that little reminder of people you love or great times in your life. I believe jewellery is there to be worn and enjoyed - life is too short and nothing should be saved for best!
