What you'll get in your craft kit
- 5x acrylic paints (primary colours, black, and white so you can mix up any shade you like.)
- 5x paintbrushes.
- 60g Carrageenan.
- 40g Alum.
- 1x Pipette.
- 1x Skewer.
- 1x Double-sided comb.
- 1x sponge.
- 12 x A4 paper (4x coloured and 8x white.)
- Plastic container (doubles as a marbling tray.)

What you'll need
- Blender or electric whisk for mixing up the marbling water.
- Kettle.
- Heatproof container or bowl.
- Food scales in grams (not essential.)
- Measuring spoons.
- 1-2 newspapers or scrap paper for cleaning the water.
- Watertight bin or plastic bag.
- Folding clothes airier or clothesline to hang wet papers on
- If hanging indoors, plastic or cloth to protect underneath
- protect your marbling area or go outside.
- Tap water.
- Access to sink for rinsing or a box with a jug for rinsing.

Marmor Paperie was launched in 2015 with the hope of breathing a new life into the art of paper marbling. Seeing shops saturated with mass-produced products, we wanted to herald a return to quality workmanship and give people back the joy of owning something truly special.We were awarded the Arts Society/Cockpit Arts Award in 2016, providing us with incredible tailored business support to help us grow, as well as funding our studio at craft incubator Cockpit Arts for a year.Paper marbling is an old and beautiful technique. We use bold, fresh colours and fluid patterns to add a contemporary character. If you are interested in learning, we hold regular workshops but, be warned, it’s highly addictive!
