Growing up, weekends were filled with visits to my grandparents’ home – a place bursting with color, creativity, and charm. My Nanny Joy was always dressed in bright, joyful fabrics, her house full of pattern and personality. She was the one who first taught me to sew, sparking a lifelong passion for crafting with my hands and designing with heart. Those early memories are the foundation of Joy Revival Design – and they still influence every piece I make today. And it was my Nanny Joy who inspired the JOY for my business - Joy Revival Design.
Now based close to Portobello, Edinburgh, I draw daily inspiration from the sea, sky, and changing light on the East Lothian coast. Walking the beach with my children and dog, I started collecting sea glass and pottery – small treasures smoothed and shaped by the waves. These finds became the starting point for my sea glass jewelry: each piece a one-of-a-kind blend of beachcombed beauty and brass, designed to honor the natural forms and textures shaped by the sea.
With a background in teaching, I have naturally been drawn to sharing my experiences. I love seeing what people make in my workshops and especially like to see those who arrive saying "I'm not creative, " leaving after the workshop really chuffed with what they have created!
