VIITTA HOUSE

Hi! My name is Violetta (or Vita). I built VIITTA HOUSE: School of Macrame, Mindfulness and Magic to share my love for mindful creation and help people realise their dreams. It began as a childhood dream to be a fashion designer. After graduating from Central Saint Martins, London, with a Textile Design degree, my dream didn’t come true. I was steered in a direction of perusing a more “serious” and “prestige” career by my father so for almost 10 years I studied and worked as a divorce lawyer. But my heart was still longing for my childhood dream. I discovered macrame in 2019 while still working as a lawyer. It became a hobby and I continued to make macrame fashion, dresses for friends and colleagues. During the 2020 lock down, being 9 months pregnant on maternity leave, I decided that it was either “now or never”. I registered my company VIITTA Limited, not knowing exactly how it would work out but believing that it would. Through challenges I continued to pursue my dream, creating and teaching from home at first, while nursing my son, and here we are today. I teach macrame workshops where women create gorgeous macrame garments in 1 day. The days begin with group meditation, followed by nourishing lunch, more macrame skills and a closing circle to reflect on the day. VIITTA HOUSE students leave with a finished macrame garment, newly gained skills and friendships. Welcome to VIITTA HOUSE, welcome to my dream. Let's realise yours together!
