As increasing amounts of industrial space is converted to luxury apartments, London creatives are finding it next to impossible to find studios at an affordable price.

Urban Potters is the latest open-access studio set up in South London to meet this huge demand for creative space. When the developers dropped the eviction notice on professional potter Adrian Gonzalez to quit his large bright studio in West Norwood he wanted to create a similar space with plenty of natural light, but without the leaky roof.

So with a loan from the bank he set about finding and fitting out his ideal space in which everybody could thrive. In June 2022 Urban Potters opened for business just by Camberwell Green.

Adrian continues to work as a professional potter alongside teaching workshops; in 2023 he was awarded the London Potters Judges Choice Winner, and has completed commissions for Soho House and St Barts restaurant. Adrian's work has also been seen on series 1 and 2 of the popular BBC series Interior Design Masters.
