Join us for a full day of woodworking, where you'll transform fresh locally sourced wood into a functional and aesthetically pleasing Kuksa to cherish and use for years to come.

The heart of this course lies in the crafting process, connecting with the essence of the craft and the natural beauty of the materials. Our experienced instructors will provide expert guidance on the safe use of tools, ensuring a fulfilling and educational experience.

Bristol Tree Craft is a Community Interest Company working with limited resources. Sometimes, we may have to cancel or postpone courses if they are less than 50% undersubscribed. We do try our hardest to keep courses running whenever possible. If a course is cancelled, full refunds will be issued.

Bristol Tree Craft's core aim is to make the benefits of green woodworking accessible to those who would not have the opportunity. As such, much of this course's ticket costs go towards funding our Community Outreach work with disadvantaged young people and refugees/asylum seekers.

Bristol Tree Craft C.I.C brings people living in Bristol together to learn the traditional heritage craft of green woodworking. Greenwood working uses unseasoned "green" wood, that has been freshly felled, this is then shaped with hand tools into finished items.

Woodwork brings a broad array of benefits: a chance to escape busy city life, connect with natural materials and enjoy the simple wellbeing that comes from making something with our hands. Our sessions offer a platform for people to get to know each other, deepen relationships and share the highs and lows of learning a new creative process together. Sharing craft is a way of creating unity, fostering community resilience, and most importantly of all, having fun!

Our main focus is collaborating with long-standing local community organisations to reach specific groups who are likely to be experiencing marginalisation from society. Our free-to-access programs offer a safe, nurturing space for these groups to learn tangible skills, grow in confidence and feel an increased sense of ownership over local green spaces. We encourage participants to express themselves through creative, physical means, enjoy each other's company and feel independent in their work. The public classes directly help fund our community outreach work.
