Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony at the Private Tea Museum

An exquisite cultural afternoon tea event inside Chitra Collection in London, combining a guided tea museum tour.

2 hours Experience size 1 to 4 guests       £99 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Join Amitabha Garden for a special Chinese gongfu tea ceremony inside Chitra Collection, London's private museum of historic teawares. For one day only, this rare event brings together two connected experiences: a 90-minute gongfu tea ceremony hosted by Yiqing, Amitabha Garden's owner and tea host, followed by a guided tour of Chitra Collection's remarkable teaware collection.
Yiqing, who has over 30 years of Chinese tea experience and owns a tea farm in Yunnan, will guide you through a side-by-side tasting of three teas – a Yunnan white tea, a Dianhong black tea, and a Jasmine Dragon Pearl green tea – using the gongfu method of small teaware and repeated short infusions to draw out each tea's aroma, body and character. Afterwards, museum staff will lead you through part of Chitra Collection's display of historic teapots and tea services from around the world.
No previous knowledge of Chinese tea ceremony is needed – Yiqing will guide you through the tasting step by step, making this just as suited to complete beginners as to seasoned tea lovers.

We are Yiqing and Yang, Chinese tea and incense lovers for over 30 years. We established an Asian culture centre - Amitabha Garden, in 2014 by the Thames riverside. We want to share our passion for chemical-free Chinese incense made by ourselves and authentic Chinese tea from our own tea field with Westerners.
Amitabha Garden grew out of traditional Chinese culture and Buddhist philosophy. What began as a small tea space gradually became a cultural home for Chinese tea, traditional arts, and mindful living. Today, our riverside space in Greenwich hosts Chinese tea ceremonies, incense journeys, cultural workshops, and contemplative gatherings inspired by Buddhism, Chinese philosophy, and literati culture. We work with carefully sourced teas, incense, and objects, chosen for their provenance, craftsmanship, and the stories they carry.
