5 x 2.5 hours Class size 2     label £280

If you've always wanted to give pottery a try and want to give yourself an amazing start, come along to this five-week pottery course and learn all about making ceramics.

The course will cover the basics of making a pot from a ball of clay, throwing a cylinder, attaching a handle for a mug, pulling a spout, throwing a bowl and lastly trimming and glazing your pieces. Your knowledgeable tutor will also cover handbuilding techniques for making a lidded pot using a template and slab-building, using press moulds for shallow bowls and plates, pinch pots and coiling.

This course is suitable for both complete novices and those who have previous experience. On the last week you will decorate your pieces with underglazes and glazes. Your work will then be ready for you to collect in 2-3 weeks.

With a max of two students per class, this is very focussed, concentrated learning where you will be able to quickly accelerate your knowledge and skill with a teacher of over 25 years' experience in working with clay. It is suitable for both the complete novice and those with more experience.
