Welcome to Four Otter Craft Studio’s Textile School: a supportive, school-style learning space where you can grow your knitting, crochet, and spinning skills over five focused weekly sessions.
This course is designed for anyone who wants structured, personalised guidance — whether you’re building technical skills, starting a new project, or learning how to finish the ones you’ve already begun.

We provide the teaching, coaching, troubleshooting, and encouragement to help you make real progress.
What you’ll do
Over five weeks, you’ll work in a small group with an experienced teacher who will help you:
Choose your learning pathway
At the start of the course, you’ll choose one of the following:
1. Skill Pathway
Use our curated Textile School modules to build technique and confidence. Options include:
Knitting Techniques: colourwork, lace, cables, shaping, and more
Crochet Techniques: ripple stitch, textures (puff/bobble/popcorn), granny square variations, and more
OR
2. Project Pathway
Bring along a project you want to start — or we'll help you find one that suits. We’ll help you understand the pattern, choose materials, break down the steps, and progress week by week.
OR
3. Bring-Your-Own WIP Pathway
If you have unfinished projects, we’ll help you progress and actually finish them.
Whichever Pathway you choose, we’ll support you with:
  • fixing mistakes
  • reading patterns
  • tension issues
  • shaping
  • construction
  • blocking
  • professional finishing techniques

Each session includes:
  • Teaching time: Learn techniques from your pathway modules
  • Guided practice: Work on your project with hands-on support
  • Troubleshooting: Fix problems, build confidence, and understand why things happen
  • Weekly check-ins: Track your progress so you keep momentum
Whether you're learning a brand-new skill or deepening an existing one, you’ll leave each week knowing exactly what to work on next.

This class series runs over 5 consecutive sessions, at the same time every week.
