In this two-and-a-half-hour beginners' throwing class, you'll dive into the wonderful world of pottery and learn how to throw on the wheel. Whether you've never touched clay before or have a little experience, this class is perfect for you!

During the class, you'll have the opportunity to create your very own hand-thrown pieces to take home. Don't worry if you're feeling a bit nervous - our friendly and experienced teacher will guide you every step of the way. We'll start with a short introduction to pottery and then move on to preparing the clay.

Once your clay is ready, we'll dive into the exciting process of throwing on the wheel. Our teacher will show you how to centre the clay, a crucial step in creating beautiful pieces. You'll also learn different techniques to create various shapes, including bowls.

This workshop provides all the materials you'll need, so you can simply come as you are and let your creativity flow. Working with clay can be a meditative and soothing experience, allowing you to unwind and focus on the present moment.

What you'll get
  • All materials to make as many pieces as you want and choose your favourite one for the teacher to fire and glaze it.
  • Collect your piece from Claystation in usually 2-3 weeks' time.
What to bring
  • Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dusty and dirty.
  • Wear comfortable shoes.
  • Bring your own apron if you like (we provide one if not).
  • Remember to bring water.
