Taster Pottery Class

In our introductory pottery workshop, you'll learn the art of 'throwing' - the practice of creating pottery on a wheel. You'll master essential skills like wedging (preparing the clay), centring (securing the clay on the wheel), and throwing (shaping the clay into a cylinder). By the end of the class, you'll have created multiple pots, with the opportunity to select one for glazing and firing, ready for collection in 3-4 weeks.No need to worry even if you've never touched clay before! Our expert tutors will guide you through each step, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident at the wheel. This hands-on activity is perfect for beginners and designed to put you at ease as you explore this ancient craft.This workshop offers a truly uplifting and inspiring experience. As you learn how to coax the clay into various forms, you'll discover a new avenue for creative expression. The joy of throwing, coupled with the warm, social atmosphere, makes for a memorable and enriching day. Whether you come alone or with friends, you'll leave with not only a handmade pot but also a newfound appreciation for the craft and, perhaps, a budding passion for pottery.Please note:

• We are advised not to teach pregnant women after three months.
• We do not take children on our group classes. Please contact the Studio directly for more information on classes for children under the age of 16.
