In this friendly and relaxing tapestry weaving session, you can get creative with colour. As a practising tapestry weaver, I am passionate about colour blending and look forward to showing you how to develop your own skills in this hands-on workshop.
What to expect at this weaving workshop:
This fun activity will begin with a look at colour theory before you learn some practical applications. First, you'll explore how to make mixes of yarn and then discover how to graduate them effectively as you weave.
The tapestry frames will be warped up for you so you can get started straight away! Later in the class, I will introduce the technique of hatching for moving colour and light across the loom. This is a wonderfully therapeutic and calming experience.

This workshop is designed for complete beginners, so no prior experience is needed. It's also a great class for improvers who are interested in enhancing their use of colour. You'll leave the class with your unique woven piece and a brilliant new set of skills for your textile creations.

Hi, I am Kat and I am a former ‘Handweaver’s Studio’ tapestry weaving tutor. Due to ‘Handweavers’ relocating I have opened my own classes in Kings Cross.
My specialty is traditional tapestry weaving, however I also enjoy teaching textured techniques.
I come from a long line of spinners in Poland where I studied tapestry weaving at Art College, graduating as a fine art technician.
