Tapestry Weaving Taster Workshop

Discover the slow, meditative pleasure of tapestry weaving with Aruna Reddy.

3 hours Class size 1 to 10 guests

£50 - £55 (Earlybird price of £50 applies if you book into a public session 14+ days ahead) (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

In this relaxed introductory weaving workshop, you’ll learn the basics of tapestry weaving and create a small woven piece to take home.
A loom will be prepared for you, and Aruna will guide you through:
  • Exploring plain weave and beginner tapestry techniques
  • Playing with colour, texture, and mixed fibres
  • Creating a small woven sample that reflects your own style
This is a gentle, welcoming session designed to help you slow down, enjoy the process, and discover the calming rhythm of weaving.
This workshop will appeal to beginners and anyone curious about trying tapestry weaving in a friendly, supportive environment. No experience is needed—just an interest in colour, texture, and making something with your hands.

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 9 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we'll cancel the class; in this case we'll inform you and allow you to get a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

Southlands Arts Centre is a wonderful Queen Anne Grade 2 listed building with extensive, beautiful grounds. It is the perfect backdrop for all creative people. The Centre is used by people and groups who engage in cultural activities across the fine arts, music, photography, film, and craft design.
We are well known for our exhibitions held throughout the year and attract some amazing artists (many local) who regularly exhibit their work at the Centre. We are also the home for The West London Photo Exhibition and SouthlandsLIVE.
