Join this sourdough and spice baking class in London and discover the step-by-step process of crafting beautiful bread and flavourful vegetarian dishes. Under the guidance of Nicole from Bernie's Bakehouse and Kate from Herbie's Kitchen, you'll gain the confidence to master artisanal techniques in a relaxed, supportive environment.
During this hands-on session, you'll focus on:
  • Sourdough and focaccia fundamentals – Learn the essential stages of creating professional-standard loaves from scratch.
  • Customise your focaccia – Use pre-fermented dough to design your own focaccia, choosing from a variety of fresh toppings.
You'll also prepare four distinct dishes from Kate’s book, 'HOW TO ADD FLAVOUR', designed to complement your fresh bread:
  • Artichoke and cumin dip – Mix a creamy, spiced dip that's perfect for sharing.
  • Peach and basil bruschetta – Balance sweet and savoury notes for a fresh, seasonal starter.
  • Baked feta with hot honey and chilli – Create a warm, indulgent centrepiece with a spicy kick.
  • Orange, fennel and rocket salad – Toss a bright, zesty salad that adds a refreshing crunch to your meal.
There’s no need to worry if you’ve never baked with a starter before; this workshop is designed for first-timers and seasoned home cooks alike. You’ll have plenty of help as you get stuck into the dough and explore new spice combinations. Once the preparation is finished, you’ll sit down to enjoy a delicious vegetarian lunch featuring everything made during the class.
You'll leave this experience feeling inspired and ready to fill your own kitchen with the scent of fresh bread. Along with your new skills, you’ll take home your own sourdough starter, a dough scraper, and detailed recipe sheets to continue your culinary evolution at home.
