Mike was really helpful in breaking down different kinds of interesting filming techniques in easy ways, and I already see the difference in my own work!
• 5/5 from Stephen Lucas, attended Jun 2026: Really enjoyed the class with Mike! Had the luck of a 1-1 session for 3 hours which was really beneficial. I learnt the importance of detail in each camera shot, and placement of subjects, as well as maximising lighting. Mike was kind enough to inform of where I can also grab high-quality video-shooting equipment too, and taught me all sorts of neat tricks on the 'Edits' app. I loved the fact that is was engaging, we shot a few videos and edited together which was insightful. Would defintely reccomend his services to anyone interested in learning more about videography and editing.

Explain things very well and as I was the only person in the class due to other cancellations he offloaded so much information in the three hour session.!. This was given to me as a gift. I was able to access the class details and book ahead for a convenient date.
• 5/5 from Michelle Pellegrino, attended Mar 2025: Really enjoyed the Smartphone Videography Workshop with Mike - it was very hand on, interactive and gave lots of great tips for filming, negative space, iphone settings etc. to ensure the quality of what you are filming is as good as possible. Filming at Southbank was great too, with so much colour and liveliness to inspire you! The editing side of things I found more challenging as there wasn't really enough time to get to grips with that - I will need to practice this in my own time, which is fine - but my suggestion would be to make the course longer, and have more time to go through editing after a lunch break, or do the filming over one morning and editing in the next day or two to "divide and conquer". But the course really did cover a lot in three hours, thanks Mike, very enjoyable, inspirational and useful.
