Sip and Paint: Korean Painting Workshop

Join us for a creative Sunday morning, Sip and Paint in London!

2 hours Location Bloomsbury Class size 4 guests   £29 (£29 for 25.Oct.2026(Sunday); £29 for 01.Nov.2026(Sunday))

Join us in a Korean Café for our Korean painting workshop in London, a very special Sunday morning. Experience Korean painting on Hanji paper using authentic Korean painting materials, including vintage Bongchae pigments.
1st November: We'll begin with a short, friendly introduction to two Korean paintings currently on display at the British Museum (KOREA): Chaekgado, the colourful "books and things" paintings that celebrated a love of learning in Joseon Korea, and Hojakdo, the much-loved tiger and magpie painting believed to bring good fortune and ward off bad luck. It's the perfect start to a Sunday, so why not stroll over to the museum afterwards and see them in person?
Choose your design:
  • Part of Chaekgado
  • Hojakdo, the tiger and magpie
  • A Minhwa-style Christmas cards and envelope with Hanji
What you'll get
  • A completed artwork painted on Hanji with an embroidery hoop frame.
  • You'll also enjoy one drink of your choice from Edine's menu -- I highly recommend the Jeju matcha or one of Edine's seasonal specials, which you won't find anywhere else.
Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly.

Hello, I'm Lea, a Korean artist based in London and the founder of Leasanbang. I discovered Minhwa, traditional Korean folk painting, during the pandemic, when missing home led me to pick up a brush. It quickly became my way of feeling close to Korea, and I fell in love with its joyful colours and wishes for luck and happiness.
With a background in textile design, I started running workshops in 2025 to share what I love with others. I host sessions at my studio in Elephant & Castle, as well as at Market Root and the Jung Festival. No experience needed. Just come and paint with me :))
