What you'll do
Join fellow creatives at Jubilee Wharf and discover the creative fun of silkscreen and enjoy the stunning views of the river. If you've been looking for fun things to do in Cornwall, then this is a great place to start.Guided by two experienced and supportive teachers, Becky and John, you will learn how to make prints using the silkscreen process. You'll be introduced to materials and techniques and how they can be used to create striking pieces of art.Silkscreen has so many possibilities and is a very creative and exciting way to make striking prints. You will produce an image using three or four colours and cut stencils. Beginners will love how easy and fun this craft is to pick up. If you do have more experience with silkscreen or printing in general, you can still enjoy yourself and learn something new while you're here.Once this class is over, you will walk away with a colourful and beautiful print. You can also then explore the other creative businesses surrounding the printmaking studio. Everything is wheelchair accessible.We can also help you explore photo silkscreen using pre-prepared acetate. If this is something you are interested in, please get in touch with your teacher in advance so that they can ensure everything is properly prepared.

Your teacher
John Howard is an award-winning painter and printmaker and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) and an honorary member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (MRBSA). As well as running his highly-regarded print studio, he is also an associate lecturer at Falmouth University. Born in Birmingham, England, John worked in industry in the midlands for ten years before studying fine art as a mature student where he graduated with a first class honours degree. He moved to Cornwall for greater professional and personal fulfilment and now runs a printmaking studio in an iconic eco-building, offering courses, workshops and open access to other printmakers as well as making his own work.
