Hi, I’m Shannon, the founder of Silk Ribbon Cakes! I started my cake decorating journey in 2024 after attending a cake decorating class as a hobby, and I instantly fell in love with it. Since then, I’ve continued developing my skills through classes, self-learning and lots of practice.What I love most is bringing people together. Community has always been important to me, and I enjoy creating relaxed, welcoming spaces where people can get creative, try something new and make lasting memories. I believe cake decorating is about so much more than the finished cake. It’s about the experience.As Silk Ribbon Cakes has grown, I’ve had the opportunity to run themed children’s cupcake decorating and bento cake decorating workshops, as well as themed bento cake decorating workshops for adults. One of my favourite things is coming up with new themes for every workshop. I love seeing everyone’s excitement when they discover what’s coming next, and it keeps every class feeling fresh, creative and full of fun.Whether you’re joining with friends, family or coming along on your own, my workshops are designed to be relaxed, creative and enjoyable for everyone.
