My jewellery-making journey started from a genuine love of creating things by hand. Over the years, I’ve explored a wide range of jewellery techniques, from traditional metalwork and carving to enamelling, etching and contemporary jewellery making. I love experimenting with different materials and finding ways to turn them into something personal and unique.
Alongside creating my own jewellery, I discovered how much I enjoy sharing the experience with others. I’ve designed and hosted jewellery workshops for groups of up to 30 people, and one of my favourite parts of teaching is seeing how differently everyone interprets the same materials. Even when participants start with no jewellery-making experience, they leave with something they have designed and made themselves.
Having experience across a broad range of jewellery-making techniques also allows me to design workshops around different people, themes and occasions. Rather than simply teaching the same class each time, I enjoy drawing on different techniques and materials to create tailored workshop experiences that suit the interests and needs of each group.
For me, a creative workshop isn’t just about learning a technique. It’s about slowing down, trying something new, meeting people and enjoying the satisfaction of making something with your own hands. That’s the atmosphere I hope to create in every workshop I teach.
