Weave a scarf from scratch on a Japanese floor loom — and leave wearing it.
Over four and a half hours at London's only dedicated floor loom weaving studio, you'll choose your own colours from our yarn wall of over 200 natural fibres — rich autumn wools, silks, linens and textured blends — and weave a full-length scarf that's entirely your design.
No experience needed. Your loom will be threaded and ready when you arrive. Erna will show you how to wind bobbins, load the shuttle and build your cloth row by row, then give you the space to find your own rhythm with colour and texture. The repetitive motion of the shuttle is deeply calming — most people are surprised how quickly they settle into it.
By the end of the session you'll have a finished scarf to take home. Not a kit project or a sample — a proper piece of handwoven cloth you made yourself on a floor loom, in yarns you chose.

What to bring
The studio is at Meantime Studios in the heart of historic Greenwich — a short walk from Maze Hill station or Cutty Sark DLR, and five minutes from Greenwich Market and Greenwich Park. We're on the second floor; sadly there is no lift.
Please arrive on time. Guests who arrive more than 10 minutes late may not be able to join, and their booking may be forfeited.
Wear comfortable clothing — you'll be sitting at a floor loom using your hands and feet.
